Get 93 Sega Games Worth $990.01 for just $80

The massive sale will run through the weekend.

At this point Steam has developed something of a reputation for its ludicrously cheap sales. Today, they're partnering with Sega for what might be the most ridiculous to date.

From now to Monday March 30 at 5 PM PST, 93 Sega games worth $990.01 will be discounted to $79.99/£59.99/€69.99 as part of the Sega Super Bundle. That's a little less than 92% off.

Most of the games in the bundle are ports from older Sega consoles, but some of the more notable ones include:

While not part of the package, Alien: Isolation will also marked down 75% to $12.49 for the duration of the promotion. If you want to buy some strategy game sets separately, the entire Company of Heroes, Dawn of War, and Total War catalogues are also 75% off with their respective DLC at half price.

Earlier this year, Sega shuttered its San Francisco office, and renewed its commitment to the PC and mobile space, with an eye for possibly moving out of console game development entirely.

You can find a full list of all the games available in the sale here.

I was so excited about this, I instantly bought The Typing of the Dead Overkill bundle...

Then I remembered one of the main reasons I detest Steam...

It won't let me just install the game to C:\Games\PC\The Typing of the Dead Overkill.

Nope... have to put it in some 'Steam' folder.

Honestly, if it wasn't for the sales I would never use this stupid thing. The whole idea of having your games tied to a third party program is ridiculous for PC games.

<< LINK REMOVED >> have you ever used steam? For the record, I dont have a single one of my steam bought game in 'Steam' folder. No, I got them in my E:\Idontlikenoobs folder or my F:\LearnToUseaPc folder or my G:\WhatsSoHardAboutChangingInstallerDownloadLocation folder :) Just go to use, open up settings, go to "downloads" and chance the location to whatever you want :) Also, I would rather deal with 3rd part programs than buy an entire console for a handful of exclusives that're getting rarer by the day, but hey, thats just me.

It's one of the reasons I don't play on PC. They impose all this DRM. You can't even buy a copy without it being linked to a service. I bought your game. Just shut up and let me play it.

You bought a license for that ONE copy, not for multiple copies on different systems. All you do when you do that is add to the piracy numbers making publishers want to add more drm.

Even at just $5 each, these games are worth almost $500. So yeah, I'd say it's a pretty good deal. Not sure it's worth almost 1k, but it's still a good deal, especially if you're a Sega fan.

Those are not worth $990 how can you even say that without even saying "Just Kidding"?
They are clearly not with $80 bundled anyways. What a rip off.

<< LINK REMOVED >> that isn't the complete list, in case you missed that. 93 games would only need to average $10 per game to equal 930 dollars. $10 isn't absurd for a pre-sale price (and of course the sale price is less than a dollar)

<< LINK REMOVED >><< LINK REMOVED >> Not even close. Most of the modern games tend to retail for $50-$60. Without adjusting for inflation, the older Genesis & MD games retailed for anywhere from $40-$90. This bundle is worth something like $4k-$5k+ at original retail prices.

Cart games were expensive to make and varied in price greatly depending on how large the ROM was. That's why SEGA & Sony were so eager to jump to optical media. I remember paying $100 for a Street Fighter II import when it first came to the SNES in 1992.

$80 for what's probably $5k worth of games is a damn good deal. There's gotta be a few months of non-stop gameplay there. 93 games, man.

If you haven't played Alien: Isolation yet, well now you have no excuse NOT to play it at just $12.49. This game is worth its full price, so getting it for just $12.49 is a steal. To me, it's the 2014 GOTY.

It was ggreat but about 10 hours to long IMO. With that said its the best Alien game since AvP2(PC, 2002) IMO. well worth $12.50. Looks great, runs great, plays great.

If only Steam did the GoG thing where if you buy a cheap bundle but own some of the games you don't pay for them but still get the others discounted.

Instead, it makes us re-buy them and not get an additional copy at all which is just absurd.

I own 80% of the games, just want the lacking classics in my collection (and to try and play again.. or for the first time). Paying for them individually or in their own bundles just.. isn't worth the price.

Oh, and SEGA are still twats for still not apologizing for the whole Shining Force Youtube DMCA BS they did.

<< LINK REMOVED >> Dolphin emulator allows you do that right now ;p of course you'd have to track down an old copy of the GC version. Either that or just download the rom. I don't think it's available anywhere else so it's not like you would be supporting the devs in either case.

You know, one of the worst mistakes i think sega did was trying to move to fps(alien games), 3d and third person(most sonic games), like it was a improvement,

and this is where i think nintendo did it right, they had some third person, some side scrolling, some 2d like, etc...for all kind of tastes.

<< LINK REMOVED >> The worst thing Sega ever did was change their business model from making consoles to just making games. As bad as people say the Dreamcast was, Sega was still a force in the console industry and were better off that way, instead they chose to focus on an area of theirs that was mediocre, now there's just pathetic.

<< LINK REMOVED >><< LINK REMOVED >><< LINK REMOVED >> Sega consoles were always amazing.

The problem was they had god awful marketing, even worse timing. (They seriously decided NOT to wait to add a DVD player to the Dreamcast functions. Or how they released the Saturn what... 3 months early? Without telling anyone, even developers...)

Getting out of the console business was a solid, albeit heartbreaking, business decision.

Now Sonic Team needs to get their head out of their *** and make a proper sonic game for the proper demographic (It should not be aimed at kids... the people who love sonic die-hard are grown up now)

And they need to get on their backlog of extremely powerful IPs. Who wouldn't love a Shenmue III EVEN if it was done in the same engine as Shenmue 2? Or how about a new Jet Set Radio, or Vectorman, or Another COMIX ZONE for F sake...

no, they are content to drum up nonsense these days with GameFreak's stupid elephant nonsense, and let sonic be a kids show, and just act like they never made cool games before they stopped making consoles...

*Rant done*
