God of War: Ascension PS3 bundle includes all six games

New $350 500GB garnet red system to launch in March featuring 30-day PS Plus membership and all God of War games to date.

Sony is marking the return of Kratos with an all-new, game-stuffed system bundle. The company today announced the $350 God of War: Ascension Legacy Bundle, which features a 500GB garnet red system (with matching controller), a copy of God of War: Ascension, and the God of War Saga.

This includes God of War, God of War II, God of War III, and the God of War: Origins Collection (which includes PSP games God of War: Chains of Olympus and God of War: Ghost of Sparta).

In addition, the God of War: Ascension Legacy Bundle includes a 30-day trial membership to PlayStation Plus.

The bundle will be available day-and-date with God of War: Ascension on March 12.

Sony just last weekend launched a 500GB white PS3 model, marking the first time Sony had ever released a PS3 in any color other than black in the United States or Canada.

The God of War series has sold over 21 million units worldwide since it launched in March 2005. God of War: Ascension is a prequel to the original, and is the first entry in the franchise to feature a multiplayer component. A trailer for the game will play during the online Super Bowl XLVII stream this weekend.

This is so unfair... I got the Slim a year and a half ago... This is such a great deal...Only problems with this bundle is the fact that the Origins are digital and the console is pink. I wish it was white...

@xolivierx @DiamondDM13 Then is not the kind of red I like. White version is not bundled with these 6 games...I know I have all 5 games, but damn... It's such an interesting bundle it almost makes me want to get a new PS3...

Why the hell would anyone buy this when the PS4 is going to release this year? Such a waste of money. Take that $350 and put it in a safe place until the end of the year.

If it helps anyone, The super slim is just a newer model, the slim before that works great and does the same thing (Play Ps3 games) i think and i believe its least expensive especially if you can find one for cheap, good way to save money.

@Lu_Shen Well, say people really want a console, there are 3 available atm. This is by far the best deal you will get. 6 of the best games ever, the most epic video games series of all. I think it's pretty obvious why people would want this...

Actually I liked my $289 MW3 320GB PS3 bundled with the original PS3 Slim and Uncharted 3 and GT5 XL Edition. All the games were physical, not digital downloads.

@blackace @DiamondDM13 @Lu_Shen Well I do understand the hardware problem, although this one reminds me alot of the Slim PS2, which I still have and love. I love my Slim PS3 and won't get rid of it for anything, but this one is so small it fits anywhere...

Ascension I'm still thinking about whether or not to buy on release, but will certaintly get it at some point...

@DiamondDM13 @blackace @Lu_Shen I'm not a big God of War fan and won't be getting GoW: Ascension immediately when it releases. I already have 2 PS3, so this bundle doesn't do much for me. I hate the PS3 Super Slim hardware. Blah. Crap!

@DiamondDM13 @Lu_Shen I guess if you have the money to piss away go for it. I for one, don't. I just don't see the point of buying an old generation console when the new one is less then a year away. I know you get all the games to an amazing series, but I still don't think that justifies spending $350. To each his own I guess.

@Lu_Shen I don't usually buy consoles on launch, I prefer to wait for the Slim editions. I believe there are people who also like to wait and get great deals, like this one.

@Lu_Shen @DiamondDM13 The PS4 won't have a big selection of games when it releases, and it'll take a couple of years for them to build up a good catalog. The PS3, meanwhile, has a big selection of thoroughly awesome games now.

sony is playing with nintendo now wiiu cost $350 and all it comes with is a dvd with some demos on it and a 36 gig drive the ps3 comes with 500gigs and 6 awesome full games...

wiiu looks really bad next to this deal

@emptycow Wii U comes with a game as well and a LCD control pad. Also the the GoW Saga game is digital download. The Wii U comes with things the PS3 just doesn't have as well. The new PS3 Super Slim is built like crap. It's really cheaply made.I will never buy one of those systems. I already own 2 PS3 anyway. Glad I bought them when I did. I got some awesome bundle deals. Better then this one.

I cannot recommend this bundle highly enough! While this is certainly the twilight year of the current generation of consoles, this bundle represents an exceptional entry point into the realm of Playstation.

It's not for me, as I already have a PS3, and every GoW game, but I'm not the target market. Casual gamers one and all, be you champions of Wii sports or diligent workers of Farmville, come drink from the chalice of the gods! :D

Awesome idea but the problem is the Ghost of Sparta and Chains of Olympus will be DD and boy they take forever to DL and install... Got them in a BF bundle....

Sucks to is that all those disc based GOW games will be in a generic sleeve instead of a case (Dont know if your one of them people) The Newest GOW should come in case though lol...

@Derrick79 Sony is trying to actually not lose money on their consoles and bundles, so they're saving money where they can... apparently the $1 worth of clear plastic that goes into the case makes a huge difference, haha.

The paper sleeves do really suck, though; I personally love displaying all of my best games in-case on one of my bookshelves.
