GTAIII: Anniversary Edition goes mobile December 15

Kinda surprised it's not going to be available for the PSP or 3DS as well but just smartphones and tablets instead, and they kinda shoehorned the Xperia Play. Oh well, if and when I get an Android phone or tablet I'll certainly pick this game up, one of my faves.

Ahh GTA III- still my personal favourite, even though Vice City had better music and San Andreas is the most accomplished overall...

That because the sony phones are underpowered, they have nothing on the highend htc and samsung hardware, they are only 1ghz single cpus while highend phones now have dual core 1.2-1.5ghz cpus.

This is awesome, shows just how far phones have come. No one 10 years ago would have though gta3 on a phone would be possible.

the PSP or 3DS would have been a better choice. and in the case of the PSP, if you did that, it would be relevant again, and maybe, just maybe, we could also get a few more games localized for it before the Vita.

This is mindblowing. One of the most revolutionary games released 10 years ago is a 5$ iPhone game. Really shows how much gaming has evolved.

Would love to see a GTA HD collection next with VC, SA, III and the PSP stories games.

I think Rockstar made a big mistake by porting this game to smartphones instead of the 3DS and PSP.

Screw you, R*. I'm willing to give you $40 for a better controlling version on the 3DS, you could totally own the small 3DS market with your marquee title in ways Chinatown Wars couldn't due to an established user base, but you defy all logic and walk away from tens of millions more dollars than you could ever hope to profit from a mobile phone version. Jesus, even a PSP, 360,PS3, PSV release makes more sense than this!

Well Gamespot Tell rockstar games to realse the HD Collection GTA for Pc , Ps3, Xbox360 with tropics and acheivements. Im sure it will sell a lot.

I really don't get why they still haven't announced a HD collection of GTAIII/VC/SA. :/ I mean I can't be that hard to make and it can't cost that much right? Plus it would sell millions. So it's a win for both us and R*.

Even though I own an iPhone 4S, this type of game simply won't work well with the touch screen controls. I must say that I'm impressed with the going price which is very reasonable. Now Squaresoft on the other hand is asking $15.99 for FFIII. WTH?!!!!!

@daabulles23 I was thinking the same thing. I would think GTA with touch screen controls to be atrocious - especially III, which is hard to go back and play compared to the handling of SA and IV.

This is neat and all but like most people, where the hell is the HD collection, Rockstar? Grand Theft Auto III, Vice City, and San Andreas all on one disc in HD with trophies/achievements. Do that and I'll be interested.

I know the Xperia Play is not the most powerful handheld on the market but theoretically it has the power to run it. Either way though, where's the San Andreas HD remake? Or better yet GTA 3, Vice City and SA HD bundle? It wouldn't take long to put out and it'd sell really well. A 3DS and Vita GTA 3 port would do nicely too. Why Rockstar don't do this, I don't know.

I don't understand why the hell Xperia Play isn't on this list.......Did they forget that it existed? Were they just not thinking about it? Someone explain it to me......

I loved GTA but it had so many bugs it rendered the game almost unplayable by the end. This game has not aged well.

Compared to Square Enix's re-releases, $4.99 USD is a bargain for GTA III. I shudder to think there are people who actually bought those $15.99 ports of the first three Final Fantasy games...

They should have released an HD Collection.
