Guitar Compatibility Charts

I own Guitar Hero 1 (PS2) and Guitar Hero 2, 3, and Rock Band (Xbox 360)

For the PS2 verison on Rock Band the Wireless Guitar (Guitar Hero Encore) works wonderfully!! Infact I'm buying another one today so I can start playing with friends. I also have a "React Rocker Wireless Guitar Controller for PS2 - Guitar Hero 1 & 2" for the PS2 and it does not work. Nyko - Front Man wireless xplorer controller: Works with GHIII to an extent. i have constant issues with calling for the star power. the game automatically registers the controller as tilted(im left handed but that never made a difference when i play 2 or 1 with this Guitar). but other than that responsiveness is great and it's wireless...

what about the wireless guitar for the ps2???

I don't understand why all these guitars don't just register as normal controllers on every console. I can hook up a racing wheel and play Halo 2 on my friends Original Xbox if I wanted to. Needless to say it doesn't work all to well, but it registers, and what little I can do works. So there is no reason that if I wanted to, I couldn't play Rock Band on 360 with 3 DDR Universe dance pads and the Rock Band mic. Just like I should be able to play Guitar Hero on 360 with a friggin Rock Band guitar, that's set up for guitar rhythm games in the first place!

Why are the guitars for the PS2 exactly the same as the xbox 360 ones and we pay double the price.

Gibson SG is probably not ONLY the best looking, but it has the best feeling in my hand, compared to all of the other guitars I've tried.

Yes, what about the TAC guitars? I have a Freedom V Wireless. Cant whait to play this game, but buying another guitar to do it doesnt look right to me...

Rock band hates GH. See how all of the GH guitars (except PS3) work with Rock Band and none of the RB guitars work with GH?

Glad I picked up all the 360 versions of these games.

This is foolish. Lets see some compatibility patches to open up the guitars for both games.

This was helpful. I like RB the best with the Gibson Les Paul. Wireless makes it not get tangled with all the plugs for everything else.

I have the Gibson X-plorerer and is great, works fine in the 3 games.

what about the pc controller?

Personally the GHIII Les Paul looks more like a discontinued Gibson BluesHawk, check it out for yourselves, just go to the available finishes and select "Ebony" http://www.gibson.com/en-us/Divisions/Gibson%20USA/Guitars/Discontinuted%20Models/BluesHawk/

I think it's absolutely ridiculous that Sony and Microsoft would not require that a "controller" for any game that is played on their console be compatible with every game that is played on their console. This is bul*&(&tt. But then hey, the 40 G PS3 only has two USB ports with a 4 port Rock Band game.

for any PS3 players that need a base or if someone just wants another stratocaster... you can go to the Rock Band support site (http://support.ea.com/rockband) and say your guitar is broken.... choose express shipping and they will send you another guitar... (it will cost $125 but... if you really want it...)

I doubt Guitar Hero will release a patch that supports their cmpetitor's product....even though it would make me more likely o buy it.

I wish the stratocasters would work in Guitar Hero, even if the higher frets and effects switches aren't available.

This is quite a handy chart. They need to release a few patches that make Stratocasters available on Guitar Hero.

I think that a great problem with Rock Band, is that the normal controller don't work with the game.

It's a shame that Rock Band isn't coming to Wii, but I am really looking forward to getting Guitar Hero III!

Seriously, they need to patch Rock Band for the PS3 so that the GH3 guitar works!

i'd like it if they both made their guitars fully compatible with each other. i mean, i know it's competition and everything, but all it does is annoy us when we have to buy two different sets of things for games. but, alas, that's only wishful thinking.

OH MY! the rockband guitar won't work with guitar hero 3? THAT SUCKS!

I hope ROCKBAND dosent come to the wii .. i found that ROCKBAND is not a good game and it is only good for the wii and Neversoft to only have 1 kind of game like this on the wii , making guys who like those games buy 1 and 1 only game ( GUITAR HERO ) because they dont have a choice !

What about the PS3's Rock Band guitar, will it work if I play my GH and GH2 from my ps2 on my PS3?
