Killzone 4 on PS4 in 2013?

is it killzone 4 or killzone shadow fall?

Kevin is good, but I have to shake my head at a review like this... for any of you that have been on Gamespot a while how many times have we heard..."another run of the mill shooter... no backstory."?!? Now "story cutsceans keep interrupting action."

These games are visually stunning! I really wish I had more interest in FPS's. But I just may pick this up for my PS4 in the near future.

This series is the biggest letdown ever..

I think the core audience that follows Sony isn't much into first person shooters. This is more an Xbox department I would say.

Not a bad launch title, good on ya sony, just have Guerilla not make some bs ending where you somehow manage to wipe out an entire planet in the span of 15mins like in KZ3

why did everyone hate kz3's ending? i guess it wasn't "great" (i can't remember it) but i enjoyed 2 and 3 quite a bit. i never got into the 1st one back in the day and i actually bought the god of war saga rather than kz trilogy but i would love to play through them again as a refresher.

side note: i know i'm late but i just finished god of war 1 and sweet jesus was that not the hardest final battle ever? stupid kratos clones! i played on hard and refused to change the difficulty. it took me 3 weeks. i refused to play it for 2 of those weeks because i was so mad so today was a good day for me as a gamer.

I started playing Killzone at number 2 and I like it quite alot. That 2005 E3 trailer caught my attention and even though the actual game didn't look quite as... crisp it did come so close so I wonder if Killzone 4 will look even better than that trailer AND have destructible environments and so on, can't wait to see that.

Just hope they keep all the great things from KZ2, and completely disregard the crap that was KZ3. And would it kill them to write a dicent story and dialogue for once?

When I fall asleep playing a game (like I did when I played Heavy Rain & Killzone 3), I tend to stay away from the franchise.

Am I the only one who was not impressed by the visuals in KZ3? I was expecting a technical masterclass, however all I saw was drab, lifeless visuals combined with a boring story and unlikeable characters.

I still don't quite fully comprehend the WTF moment that is Killzone 3's ending.

I think Killzone has one of the best looking graphics a game can have in a console. Importantly, the 'feel' that you experience while moving and shooting is the thing that sets this game apart from other FPS. There is this feel of 'weight' of the weapons that you are holding. Killzone 3 slightly deviated from that experience but it was still there. So hoping that Guerilla keeps this tradition for the next title.

If that's the case Wii U is dead this E3. All eyes will be on PS4.

I don't have that much of a hard time believing this, since Geurilla sold their souls and apparently feel the need to churn these things out like everyone else. Killzone 3 came a little too early, and was a little faster paced, or basically the CoD Killzone. Wealth > Passion is becoming the norm of this industry. Where will we be in 5 years?

Meh... Playstation is my favourite console but I still believe this is a mediocre series at best.

hmmm Killzone 4 in 2013 no I do not believe....Killzone 4 resistance 4 on the PS4 in 2014; I believe and even sounds like a great ad campaign... :)

I am so excited about Killzone .. the Killzone series has never disappointed me through out this gen and had the best realistic graphics. I can imagine what i will be on a PS4. I will be surely buying it when it comes out along with the Playstation 4.

For those who don't know too much about Killzone,

1. Best shooting mechanics and "feel" of any FPS I've played in 20+ years of playing these games; the best comparison I could give would be Goldeneye for us old farts.

2. The multiplayer lacks the bells and whistles of the COD games, which is a shame. Oddly enough, KZ2 was much more polished and had more options than KZ3, which almost felt like a beta at times. Also, GG seemed to just give up on the game after about 6 months.

IF KZ4 can include custom lobbys, perks, and/or way more customization while keeping the same mechanics intact, you'll have the best FPS of the next generation, right out of the gate. (At least until KZ5!)

Having finished Killzone2 and 3, i believe Guerilla should probably take the experience of this franchise (i think killzone has the best feel/sense shooting mechanics) and make a new IP with better/more interesting characters.

I thought Guerilla was working on a new IP. What happened to that?

The Killzone series is so awful. Beautiful... but awful.

@jcnba28 I agree with you. They don't feel like they are living human taking damage from your weapon, but targets placed there for you to shoot.

While this is nice and all, it's worth noting how gamespot continues to ignore/care about the Vita, as the game definitely did not come out last September as the writer implies. Still, it'll be interesting to see what they do with KZ4, if it is in fact a launch title and if they show it later this month.

Hard to fathom how fast the next gen is ramping up, I'm in no hurry to get one right at launch, but i could always use a shiny new toy :) And with the rumor that the PS4 will have a NFC antenna on it, all the better, you could buy stuff from from PSN without having to have your credit card information on your account (just have Google Wallet and a tablet)

Man...If this is true then I'll be in line for day one of the release. I was personally partial to K2 more so than K3, so Im praying for at least 16v16 (or more) on huge maps and please bring back spawn grenades (made K2 so unique along with the sabs and the invisible snipers). Great effin news indeed...

Awesome! Killzone is my favorite exclusive series for Playstation and Killzone 4 alone might just make the PS4 worth buying for me.
