(Last Chance) Claim The August 2020 Free PS Plus Games Before They're Gone

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Remastered and a new multiplayer game are free for PlayStation Plus subscribers this month.

This month's PlayStation Plus games are nearly gone, but PS Plus members still have some time to get them for free. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered was technically available near the end of July, but now you can also pick up Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout, a new online multiplayer game that made its debut recently. Both PS4 games are free until the next slate of PS Plus games arrive in September. One of these has become a meme at this point, so you won't want to miss out. You may find yourself playing it for hours on end in an attempt to be the last Guy standing.

Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered, as the name suggests, is a re-release of the single-player campaign of the 2009 Infinity Ward hit. It just launched in March and marks the second time in the past few months that a Call of Duty game is being added to the PlayStation Plus program; Call of Duty: WWII was free in June. It also happened to be added to the program before its month officially began. Though it's disappointing the remaster didn't include the game's excellent multiplayer suite, Modern Warfare 2 has one of the best campaigns in the series, and it looks great on PS4.

Now Playing: Free PS4 PlayStation Plus Games For August 2020 Revealed

Meanwhile, Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout is a brand-new multiplayer game published by Devolver Digital that released August 4. Though it's priced at $20, PlayStation Plus subscribers can grab it for free on launch day. It has become something of a meme already because of its goofy gameplay and charm. It's also available on Steam.

The game pits you and up to 59 other players against each other in one of the sillier and lighthearted battle royales thus far. You play as funny little creatures who have terrible balance. Fall Guys is bright, colorful, and packed with chaotic action. Each match features a variety of challenges and obstacle courses. Some of them are played solo, while others team you up with other players. You'll be able to customize your character with a bunch of different outfits, too.

Surprised they gave away MW2 so fast, I wanted to replay the campaign so I'll definitely be grabbing it.

@brandxbeer: Stfu, people like you are so annoying and keep crying about technicalities. K you pay for the online service so they can keep upgrading/maintaining it.

As a benefit they throw in free games that don't cost you anything. They're free, you pay for the service not the games. No matter how much you cry, they're going to say free in every monthly article.

@philip6k: See, I look at it as the games costing money but the multiplayer add on is the free part.

@restatbonfire: Its not free because you pay for a subscription. Once you end the subscription, the games go away..

Therefore, it is not free by any means.

@chubby170: okay but Playstation service and xbox live gold have always been paid for, the free games a month thing was an added service to a service you were already paying for. So, yeah, they are free.

@restatbonfire: Thats not true. Online services for Playstation were free on ps3. And if you wanted the games, you paid for them separately from being able to play online with people.

How about you keep this and give me back the battlezone in Warzone? What type of nonsense was that....play something for a while and part of it just disappears?? lol. And we're told if we want to keep playing it....we have to buy it? I need to snipe. You don't just let me snipe for a while and take my sniping away. Now i avoid COD.

What are you talking about? Call of Duty has been included as a free game only twice this year. How is that every month?

@tsunami2311: I noticed this as well. There was no option to add to my library, only to download.

@tsunami2311: All PS+ games get added to your library. But you can only access them as long as you have an active subscription. There's even an extra section for PS+ games if I'm not mistaken.

Fall Guys sounds fun. Also, the MW campaigns are the best part of the game for me (because I'm horrible at the multiplayer lol). Cool month.

I'm still holding out hope we get N++ free one of these months. :)

@arise: Go to the PS Plus tab on the left hand side of the top row of the XMB and you can add it to your library and download from there.

I couldn't do it from the store either but I'm currently DL'ing as I type this.

@gotrekfabian: I always used to do it through a computer browser. Easiest way to add those games without having to download them and without having to start up the console.

@Atzenkiller: I use that method when I'm away from home by logging into the PS Store from my phone and adding to my collection. You can even opt to add it to your download queue from there as well.

@DarkCaptain3: Hopefully you never find out how much money you've wasted over the years by buying games at launch instead of months or years later.

@DarkCaptain3: You've probably still payed more than you could have at times. Buying a game for $30 instead of $10 years later is still money wasted. There is no limit to how much money you can save, which is why worrying about this is pointless. If you've bought a game at a certain price then it was obviously worth that to you. If it then lowers in price that doesn't change anything about the decision you made. If it does then learn from it and make better decisions in the future.

@Atzenkiller: A lot of the games I buy though consist of multiplayers games so buying them years later when they are $10 is sortof pointless as they are dead by then.

@philip6k: If you read further into our conversation it never did. I've had a lot of friends who played Warzone then bought the full game after liking just warzone even though they originally hate CoD.

@DarkCaptain3: Well, that's always the choice you have to make: get a game right away and pay full price for it? Or wait to save some money but miss out on something? I guess with mp games it's unavoidable. But if you're gonna put a lot of hours into it like I used to into the COD games before the series went to shit, then paying full price such a game shouldn't be an issue. As for sp games though, you are pretty much always better off waiting until all the dlc has been released and everything patched up, because then you get the best experience and usually for little money. Nowadays whenever I've bought a game at launch in recent years I've regretted it most of the time. It's just not worth it and I prefer to avoid all the timed events crap as well, which you'd be "missing out on" normally if you didn't buy a game at launch.

@Atzenkiller: Oh yeah, when I get a single player game I do tend to hold off on those for a bit until somethings are fixed. I've learned from experience that the days of games being bug tested before launch are basically gone :/

Can't say I'm not disappointed but I've gotten so many good games for free this past year that I am quite pleased anyway.
