@chimpanchu While I do agree that Fillion is the "only acceptable alternative" for Nate, I think you'd have to agree that the ONLY Nathan Drake is Nolan North ;p

I'm with DemannameD, Powers Booth would be the ultimate Sully. Guy was scary as hell in Deadwood.

I am exited with the attempt to make an Uncharted movie though it can easily be confused with Indiana Jones Raiders of the Lost Ark or The temple of doom... Mark is one of those actors who make it work depending on the role. Truth is his work dances from the great to the mediocre... Max Payne, which was written by the brilliant Shawn Ryan, creator of The Shield did not create the script I was expecting for the Payne I suffered at the movies!!! (0 replay value!). Let's see what goes with Uncharted which has both the chances for greatness or utter failure.

You know this isnt that bad. I would have perfered Nathan Fillion but the casting is no where near as bad as Kane and Lynchs..god... I really hope Uncharted is going to be a great movie. Mark can act great when he has to, I hope he excutes the funny dude that Nathan Drake is.

I can see it now....this movie is gonna suck. It's gonna start with those two roles being added that shouldn't be in the movie, given that they had nothing to do with the game, and then more changes from the game's story are gonna come until you have a really awful movie << LINK REMOVED >>

why dont the big personalities in the film world ever take on these projects, year after year we see our favourite games flop on the big screen because they get picked up by s*** crews. these films aren't doing the games any justice at all. lets hope this is where it starts to turn around. But whatever happens please dont fuk up Bioshock!!!!

i really hate how everyone is pointing out how he was in one terrible movie which was directed terribly anyhow... i think this is a good pick.... wahlberg is a good actor if you have seen any of his other movies... and even if this one isnt good, it goes unnoticed, just another movie to the rep of terrible video game movies but if it holds up to the potential it has, well good on mark walhberg

while mark whileberg has a similar face to nathan . they have very different facial expressions. And I would say he's a pretty bad pick.

They really don't care about the outcome of this. Either that or it's just gonna get cancelled, I hate it when non-gamers (yes i am stereotypical) try to ruin our lovely franchises.

wahlberg is a one note actor. He is decent at the one character he is able to portray. But, he will not be able to pull off the care free nature of Nathan Drake. Even though I don't really like him as an actor and he does not look that much like Drake I think Ryan Reynolds would have been a better choice.

I don't understand why they are making a movie for this series. The games ARE movies in their own right and by themselves will deliver far more than the movies with different characters portraying the characters we all know and love. To make matters worse, the selection so far isn't too reassuring. I do hope they pull this off somehow, as I love Uncharted and to see it bust the whole game-movie stereotype would be great, but it all seems unlikely when true fans of the series who would see the movie regardless are disappointed.

Oh, and Bruce Campbell for Sully. But they'll pass him up for some big name star that doesn't fit the role, just to get that name on the marquee.

Eh, he isn't that great of an actor. I know Max Payne wasn't his fault, the writers killed that movie, but nothing he's been in has convinced me his is good enough for this role. I still can't believe Nathan Fillion didn't get the role. He looks just like him, acts just like him in Firefly. How could they pass that up?

Ben Affleck suits the role more, for starters he looks more like Nathan Drake than Mark, i mean i understand why mark but WHY :P they couldve made an amazing movie still bet they will cuz uncharted is like unscrewable okay now i have no idea what im saying sorry everybody i got a new keyboard and kinda test driving it on this forum

But why are they making a movie after Uncharted? MGS4 or Heavy rain would be so much better choices.

Seriously bad choice...was Nolan north demanding too much money or what? Wahlberg is a good enough actor but he just seems all wrong for the part of Nathan Drake. Once again it seems like the old video game to Movie rubbish is going to remain true to form. Uncharted has so much potential as a movie franchise but from this announcement it looks like it's off to a terrible start already.

Max Payne is probably the worst movie i have ever seen. This bodes well.

I always thought James Denton from desperate housewives would make a good nathan drake! forget the movie anyways, they will never get the casting right i expect the same from the gears of war movie.

ok...Uncharted is already a great game series, theres no need to ruin it with some, what will turn out to be, mediocre AT BEST movie.

Too bad this is just going to be Indiana Jones with a less likeable lead. Also what the hell, is with them not letting Nathan Fillion from Firefly do it. He's a hell of a better actor than Walburg.

This movie is doomed from conception. It would be doomed EVEN IF they had gotten Fillion. Honestly, the only instance in which I would consider seeing it would be if they got all their real actors to play them. But even then I still think its doomed.

@Byaku524 sorry but the quality of tomb raider and resi evil, honestly, are pretty poor. i imagine this will be like peter jacksons 'king kong' great visually and 'pretty good' overall

I think he did a OK job of Max Payne but he defiantly doesn't fit the character that is drake, i don't see this turning out so well. Its a shame it could have been an awesome movie.
