The PC version of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain will be released on September 15, two weeks after the console edition arrives September 1, publisher Konami announced today.

Konami did not provide an explanation for the different release dates.

It's not uncommon, however, for PC versions of high-profile games to launch after their console counterparts. Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes came to PC in December 2014, a full nine months after the game's release on consoles in March of that year.

Konami also today announced the Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain Collector's Edition and more.

I finally think they are going to release a game that is just as much fun to play as it is to watch be played. I've always loved watching people play MGS games because they look so clumsy doing it. Snake is supposed to be a super spy, yet he haphazardly clings to walls and always has trouble with the old prone-to-crouching-to-standing maneuver, but Ground Zeroes actually made you feel like a super spy.

I had mgs4 on ps3 but in all honesty, i would very much like to see Kojima do something else. He has interesting titles like policenauts or snatcher begging to be revisited but he prefers to play one trick pony with mgs.
