Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain announced

so this game is after mgs 4? or before? also who is the main character? is the same from 4?

@lowdan666 @freckledballsac My take on this would be that this is around the time of the first and second original metal gear games. The reason for this would be that the original speculation was something about playing as both snakes and this fits the time perfectly , also we are sure that this is Big Boss. Another reason is that the guy on the horse definetally looks like ocelot and the age fits pretty wel. Then we can analyse the titles which are "Ground Zeroes" and "The Phantom Pain" i'd say ground zeroes because it is the start of Solid Snakes great missions . The Phantom Pain in my eyes refers to Big Boss who is suffering because of his past missions , the trailer makes you feel haunted by "phantoms" like the fiery man which really looks like Volgin . Also Phantom Pain means feeling pain in a limb you have lost , thus referring to his lost arm.

And after I spent all that time building up Mother Base and stopping Peace Walker, it just gets destroyed anyway...oh well.

I do like how despite everyone knowing that The Phantom Pain was an MGS thing all along, I'm still kind of surprised as to exactly HOW it related.

Hm... I'm still undecided on this. From first look I thought it was pretty amazing. Then I saw something that made me go 'what?'. That thing was that the game is going to be 'Open World'. This is definitely a new addition to the game franchise and definitely a new step for Kojima Productions. All it comes down to at this point, is how they intend to implement it, and how well they do. I'm hoping for a Demo before release, because that will be the ultimate decider for me, seeing how they implement the open world aspect. Here's to hoping that the game will be as amazing as the others.

The demo was run on PC, so its very weird if this game will not come to PC..

@freckledballsac the story takes place after the events of peace walker so as you said this could in fact be the coma he was in when zero took his DNA and we would get to see the les enfant terrible project think about that ! that would be great in my opinion and would fit

I'm somewhat nitpicking here...but did anyone else think it was odd that Snake didn't have his headband on at any ooint in the trailer? I know that he threw it away at the end of Peace Walker....but a Snake without a headband is like peanut butter without jelly...there's just something missing :p

any speculation on who that flaming devil head guy in the gameplay demo is ???

Watch Dogs also showed current gen logos in the end but turned out to be both current gen and next gen title , it was also running on PC .

What I love the most about the stuff Kojima gives us is that he doesn't tell us anything clearly. Recently I've been staying away from reading too much about games I'm interested in because we get too much information. But with Kojima its just like here's a bunch of really crazy ass, cool looking shit, I dare you to try and figure out what the hell is going on.
