Metroid: Other M, Sin & Punishment 2 delayed

Meanwhile, there's still the Metroid Prime Trilogy to play, and just to let those who haven't picked this up yet know, watch out for the phazon mines zone in MP1, as the GC and WII versions differ GREATLY in that zone as far as the Metroids you'll see in a select few areas. (Hint: What type is seen at the end of the game.)

So Metroid was pushed back to August (how coincidential that it has to coincide with my first day back to school...), that just makes the game even more intriguing, as I'm sure that Team Ninja has some very great things to come with this game.

Man, this was the game to hold me over for the summer. Guess my first semester will have to take the backseat for a couple months.

Looking at this tread makes me realize how spoiled most people are. I want, me, me, me, NOW!!!!! bwaaa, BWAAA! Grow up people. Good things come to those who wait. Quality games take just a bit longer but in the end we get something good and worthwhile. We have gotten so use to instant gratification that we forget that good games take years to make and only typically last a few hours.

Looks like Metroid will be coming Holiday 2010. What crap! After a couple of looks at the game, however, I think I may miss the first person perspective. Especially if the auto aim is terrible in this one.

Another delay, good for you Nintendo, my Wii is collecting dust.

You know, it seems as if Nintendo farming out its biggest titles to third party developers has turned out to be good business for them. F-Zero developed by Sega. Now, Metroid developed by Team Ninja which is shaping up to look awesome. I wonder what Rockstar Games could do with The Legend of Zelda.....

As much as I want to play Metroid I can honestly say I'm not really surprised it got pushed back. Too bad it's at the end of summer though now.

Wait = Quality. That's what it's all about for sure. Except I can't ****ing get Mario to slide-back jump or get him to jump on the ****ing enemy precisely even though all you ****ing do in Sonic games is touch an enemy anywhere to kill it. Guess they we're kind of just playing wheelbarrow when they were pressed to evolve the jumping mechanics of SM64...

Well I just hope that this delay is worth. So far this games looks promising. But we'll have to wait :(

2 months isn't bad for metroid...i was expecting 6.

Kool, It'll give me more time to finish some of these games I got. June is very close by anyway, so it won't be too long now.

I haven't played a metroid game since Super Nintendo. LoL. Since I have the wii, i'll prob go check this one out. Looks promising.

@formerroadie They consider Corruption to be unoriginal considering it is a sequel to the other two Prime games from the gamecube. This one is a Metroid game in itself for the Wii. Remember that is how they consider it.

@elozl Yeah, good old 256-color days. Unfortunately, some game publishers just don't seem to know the difference between a bad old game and a good old game, like Nintendo did with its Virtual Console service (which still has River City Ransom for downloading by the way). And dude, very amusing banner that you have for your blog there. Checking blogs can be rather... engrossing.

@Gelugon_baat well i was thinking on both, but if i have to choose, ill get in game animatios and models, since the cutscenes are already there, and i believe cutscenes can be added with a dual layer dvd so im still hoping both lol. Its good to know there's people who appreciate good IPs like River City Ransom, i played it way back on 1989 i think at some dude's house and i was so hyped because of all those moves and running and "violence" lol. The good ol 8 bit NES days!

Well I cant really get mad. I have at least 6 games for the 360 i need to finish. Im still having a Joygasm though, at this game and Marvel vs Capcom 3. I cant wait to play Mario Galaxy 2, but ummm...who would pick Mario Galaxy 2 over Other M? Thats crazy.

@elozl By second thing, you mean more in-game animations and models, or more cutscenes? The Wii is good hardware, but it would certainly not be enough for Team Ninja to design really awesome and impressive in-game models and animations equal to the level of those that we saw in the Ninja Gaiden games. Of course, looking at the trailers, it would seem that Team Ninja is working on quite a bit of cutscenes. And knowing Team Ninja, more than half of these of these are going to be... gratifying, especially to people who liked Team Ninja's previous works. But likely not so to people who revere the Metroid series. And dude, nice profile pic. City River Ransom is one of the most amusing platform fighter that I have played. Here's hoping there's a reboot of sorts, but Million (the allegedly current owner of Kunio-Kun's IP) hasn't released anything in a while and I can't find anything about the fate of the IP over the Internet.

that's a lot better, that way, they won't over saturate the market and not sell as many games as they could.

I do wonder about the reason for the delay for Metroid: Other M. I hope it's not issues between Team Ninja and Nintendo. Or maybe Team Ninja wants to introduce and fine-tune additional stuff into the game - more models, animations and cutscenes, very likely, if Team Ninja's track record is to be examined. And if it is to be examined, one would know that many of these are going to be rather frivolous, especially when a comely female lead is involved. Maybe Team Ninja is going to add some gleefully useless functionality to the controls like it did for Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2.

Aww... I have to start at post-secondary right after Other M comes out. :( Still, better then having a game released that's anything less than perfect.

Great. I'm sure there's a good reason for metroid's delay but why the END of summer? Talk about a hard blow. Never got in to sin and punishment so don't really care. Also, Earthworm Jim on DSiWare? Sounds awesome, but I'm not that gullible to get a DSi.

Damn it, looks like I won't be playing Other M this summer.

@kavadias1981 Sorry didnt mean to bite your head off. Some anti-Nintendo gamers claim that Miyamoto is responsible for everything Nintendo produces even though that would be imposable.

The only reason Sin & Punishment 2 is being delayed is because it's getting breathing room right in between smg2 and metroid other m. It's already out and has been out in Japan for a while now. Metroid Other M is getting delayed for once again, some space in between the three Nintendo titles, unless there's a slight problem with the marketing process such as shipping, or otherwise to fix a few minor bugs.

Nintendo seems to have a fetish for pushing back the games everyone wants.

Metroid: Other M isn't the first Metroid title for Wii... Metroid Prime 3? This is actually very disappointing news, seeing as I won't have much time to play it come Fall.

I'm all for making games better and all but how much can you really do it that little time?

Well if it's delayed it should turn out better. So yeah, I don't mind. Im more eager to play Mario Galaxy 2 anyways.

Metroid should be fun anyways, an extra month for polish never hurts.

Oh great, some breathing room. I still have a bunch of games piled up that I need to finish so will actually consider this good news.

This is not a bad thing. From what I hear, Other M has some serious kinks when switching to 1st person mode because there is. O way to make Samua move (no nunchuck use). This might just be corrected so we have a good game that isn't hindered by a single major gameplay flaw.

Well if the delay is to complete the game and do a high quality one then it's better to wait. They should change the other M tittle before realising it.
