Microsoft not planning to release Halo games on Steam
Company shoots down speculation that Halo 3, or any other entries in the series, is coming to PC.
Gamers hoping to see Halo titles on Steam are out of luck, at least for now. Responding to a recent report that suggested Halo 3 could come to Valve's virtual store, a Microsoft spokesperson told GameSpot that this is not the case.
"We currently do not have plans to release any Halo titles on Steam," the company said.
Halo 3 data was found in the Steam database recently, suggesting the 2007 Bungie-developed first-person shooter was potentially planned for the PC.
Though Microsoft has no plans to release Halo games on Steam at present, it is possible this philosophy could change.
Halo: Combat Evolved and Halo 2 both are currently available for the PC, though subsequent entries Halo 3: ODST, Halo: Reach, and Halo 4 are currently Xbox 360 exclusives.
