New, next-gen Far Cry to stalk Xboxes in spring

I like far cry but if they make it a franchise then i hope they make it a good one.

Why doesn't Ubisoft just make Far Cry 2 for the 360??? I don't want to play Far Cry 1.5 on my $400 system!!!

It still looks the same but they have enough time to fix it up a little

The first Far Cry was totally overated... I hope Ubisoft can add more depth in character and story this go around...!

Far Cry was a horrbile game. I hated it on the PC and I doubt I'd like it on any other platform.

Far Cry Instincts was a decent game on the Xbox. Will the 360 version make any great leaps forward? Probably not. If the only is sweet, maybe it will be enough to make me buy a game I've already played.... just on a more expensive machine! :)

Awesome. Instincts is a fantastic game and I'm pleased to learn that there is a current-gen sequel planned. I could care less about Xbox 360.

I love the PC Far Cry, I didn't know the Xbox Far Cry was so bad. Hell, even gamespot said its great, and they said it was even better than the PC version. Oh well, its coming out for the 360 so hopefully the AI would be fixed and any of those other problems mentioned.

While the single player campaign of the first game was decent enough, the multiplayer aspect was mediocre at best. If they could tweak up the multiplayer modes and enhance the map editor, Farcry on the next generation systems would be excellent.

This could end up being a really good thing actually... Far Cry Instincts had a major issue in the form of the piss-poor AI... if that gets ironed out, then this as a shot at being the first console-exclusive FPS that can compete with PC FPS games.

Meh. PC farcry > Xbox farcry anyday.

Fry Cry for the xbox was fun but there are so many problems with that game. I can't belive GameSpot gave it a 9.2 because they are so picky. the game sould have gotta' 7.0... I just hope 2 is better.

what is wrong with u pple! farcry instinct was l33t! and it looked awesome for the xbox, i can't wait for it on 360. i'm thinking kameo meets call of duty. oh so sweet. oh and by the way i own and beat the PC version. so yea i'm a fan.

After the game introduced the cliched bio-monstrosities and the "intelligent" (i.e. cheating) AI pissed me off enough I uninstalled it. Not touching a console version.

You know, I liked Far Cry alot better when it was a PC title ....... and, you know, didn't suck. Far Cry PC> Far Cry: Instincts. I'm tired of dumbed down FPS ports. Doom3, HL2, and FC suffered immensely on the downgrade to the Xbox. Where's FC2 for PC? I ask you Crytek!

Awesome! I loved the first Far Cry on Xbox and I have no doubt in my mind this game will be just as good.

Looks nice. Haven't played any Far Cry yet, so me and others like me will certainly enjoy this.

yo..chromium42, I took that Xbox news, with relief. With the huge shortage of 360's that rob you of you're hard earned cash...I'm glad I can still play it on xbox 1..but then again I guess that kills the whole point of the enhaced version..I'm so drunk and stoned....

I guess that XManTMG and myself were the only ones who enjoyed Far Cry Instincts. I'm stoked that a sequel is coming to the Xbox as I feared only the 360 would get it.

I've seen the Crytek next gen video before somewhere and the graphics in the screens don't really do the video I saw justice. But don't worry, because the demo was beautiful. I'm not too sure of the site I got it from, but search around. It looks amazing so don't worry too much about the graphics. And if you don't care about this news, please don't let us know by commenting that you don't care. Because we don't care to hear it.

If I'm not mistaken, doesn't the article state that the 360 version will be the sequel with a reworked original included. Either way I think it's awsome.

i agree with the woop dee doo! dont you love paying for the same game three times, each with just a bit more "awesome extra content, characters, and story elements!" ? and their game-naming department could use some help. "FarCry Fatal Instincts Predator 2 the Next Chapter Gold Edition (squared)" is just going to look dumb on the shelf at the store.

Current-gen looks great, pretty heavy graphics for a low spec system. Next-gen version should look rather interesting.

meh the online was great for the x-box and I say they will rework it for the 360 which should be awesome.
