PS3 Killzone resurfaces

Finally some info. This game is gonna be so sweet. If a game is gonna cost this much it's gonna be really good. They wouldn't spend that much and just let the game come out crappy. Any one who says this game is bad is the worst fanboy alive.

Who cares about the rumble feature really? Who really thinks the rumble feature makes or breaks a game? Lol, I could care less if its rumbling, I am trying to pay attention to what I am doing in the game, not how my controller is vibrating like a sex toy. Anyways, stop the pointless arguments saying Halo 3 will pwn everything else... it probably will sell a lot just because it has a cult following like just about any other popular series. As far as how many people play a day, who cares... Counter Strike set the tone for that kind of gameplay, as I remember it being the most played online game just a few years ago and it is still one of the most popular games ever. World of Warcraft has millions that play, Everquest has millions that play... the list goes on. Think what you want about whatever game you are talking about, because its you're opinion, not a fact.. so stop trying to make other people feel stupid because they just happen to not like your game

damn! good point Bigcr47 i agree with you. in my opinion, the Helghast pistol in Killzone is the most badass pistol in ANY game hands down! the games graphics were ahead of most PS2 shooters when it released and even long after it was out it graphically beat most of the other shooters on ps2. I admit it has problems, like pop-up and bad A.I. but thats on 1plyr campaign, which if you played it you know its strength is the online multiplayer,therefore the campaign stuff doesn't really matter, except for the fact you can't "pistol whip" online and you can in 1plyr. Personally i felt that the exclusion of the ability to jump benefitted the game( unlike Halo2 or Socom, where you have people hopping around like rabbits to avoid getting shot, don't get me wrong they are great games esp. the latter). Killzone is not the greatest game but great enough for me to like it better than Halo or Halo2 tho. I hope the new Killzone has online co-op. As far as the "console war" goes, who gives a sh1t! As soon as you take a side you only exclude yourself from the great games the other console offers. For example, you can't play any online 2-D Fighting games (CAPvsSNK,SvC:Chaos, StreetFighter,etc) without an original XBOX, and if you have never owned a PS1 or PS2 then youve missed out on an entire era of console gaming(esp. some of the greatest RPG's ever made). Same thing with 360 and PS3, you can't play Killzone2 or RFoM without a PS3, or GoW and Halo3 without a 360. Sure a fanboy can say "well, RFoM sucks" and an opposing fanboy will say "Halo3 and GoW are overrated" yet since neither one owns the other console and haven't played the games then their opinions on the subject are automatically converted to trash coming out of their mouths. Personally i think these attitudes are detrimental to gaming as more games are bought out of ignorance and "hype", making original games fewer and far between. It really is quite simple as we refer to ourselves as "gamers" and not "consolers"....why? because in the end it IS about the GAMES and the GAMEplay not the consoles or the graphics.

To be honest, i don't compare Killzone to Halo. Killzone is more or less on the simulation side, dark and gritty. Halo is a colorful and cartoony like arcade shooter. I don't care how well either of them do, i just want them both to be great games. Personally I liked Killzone way better than Halo 1 and 2. After all, video games are for YOUR own personal enjoyment so if you like one better than the other than play it. I hate all the complaints and system wars type crap that goes down about HALO. It's just a game guys, you sound like a bunch of 12 year olds arguing about who's bike is cooler. Just hope that Killzone PS3 is awesome and does well so the devs are pressured to make even bigger and better games, which can only benefit us because we re the ones that play them. Who gives a S#$% about which one sells more, does that really effect how much you play it? NO... Give HALO some respect, it is a great FPS in its own right and it will probably outsell Killzone based on the fanbase alone, but how the hell does that effect you other than you will have to wait to play it if it sells out?

The first Killzone had a lot of great aspects and showed huge potential from the team (nothing to do with the score). Now that they have more money and time, I don't doubt that it could be the "next Halo" as people like to say.

o ya, and before anyone says anything... I am not a fanboy, I have all the other consoles n play them all... so dont be gay n say "OO HE JUST WANTS PS3 TO FAIL." I don't, I want a PS3, but my hopes for it to majorly succeed aren't very high because of the lack of games that I myself would be interested in (im not a fan of those common japanese sword fighting-ninja-final fatasy **** I'd love it if this game turned out amazing, I honestly just think that it's overly hyped just because of some pretty pictures we saw a few years ago.

I mean looking @ the facts of ratings (not just here on GameSpot, but other places aswell) here... Killzone only received a rating of 6.9, Halo received a 9.7, and Halo 2 recrived a 9.4. So if the games stay the way they are... then logically you can say that Halo 3 will be a better game than Killzone.

You guys complaining about the Halo story are stupid, the halo story spawned four books in which the latest is a new york times bestseller, and one of the top books in the USA Today bestsellers list. It spawned a graphic novel, and a movie, and two games dealing with the universe. Halo 2 multiplayer is the single greatest multiplayer game since Goldeneye. One billion games played on XBOX live in two years, four million users. Oh did I mention Halo 2 holds the record for highest grossing opening day in media entertainment history. The story for Halo 2 sets up Halo 3 morons. Look at how lame the story was in The Two Towers compared to the first movie, it's cause the second movie always brings about the backstory leading up to the conclusion. Everything you need to know that will unvail the ending is always given in the second of three movies or books. Hate to break it to you. The story was great, you found yourself feeling for the Arbitor, as he came to the realization he was a pawn in his own governments religious beliefs that are false. I'm sorry thats a great story, its just not all action, but sometimes the best stories have no action at all. Yes the game was slightly boring at some spots, but overall the story was great and it only makes you want to play Halo 3 even more. When Halo 3 drops it will hold the record for highest grossing opening day in media entertainment and it will sell more then 2 million copies in it's first two weeks of release. Easy. The multiplayer in Halo is amazing and better in the sequel, it's faster, more responsive and too many different game types and weapons to suit everyone. The sword is the best weapon in my book. I wish I could weild 2, I'd have 40 kills a game. You are a fanboy saying halo sucks and killzone will beat it, you can't kill a phenomenon. That's what halo is. When Halo 2 dropped the store I bought it from had over 1000 preorders, while GTA San Adreas had a whopping 400. I'm sorry Halo games have sold over ten million copies and thats a third of its gamers and there are only 32 million units split between xbox's and xbox 360. NOt any game for the ps2 can make that claim. It's simple you don't like what you don't understand and you don't like it cause you want to be different. Not one single critic gave halo or halo 2 a score less then a 9, wow every single journalist who knows everything about how games are made thought halo and halo 2 were great games. Hopefully Killzone 2 comes out strong since they are keepin it hush. Halo 2 is not one of the greatest games of all time, not after noticing the story....If Halo 3 improves from part 2, then u just might find a good game to play, otherwise its gonna be the same ol shooter only with updated graphics. oh and to sumone here who said sumthin about what does the PS3 got that is a console seller, well of course u mentioned MGS4, theres also great titles like Final Fantasy XIII coming soon, Resident Evil 5 (which has been more silent than Killzone in my opinion since there hasn't been any word since E3 2005), and GTA which is also comin to the PS3. I know there will be more great games comin for the PS3 (even though I don't own one, but will get one when they drop that price down lol). So in conclusion, I hope these developers make this game look hot wit a good story and gameplay and an awsome multiplayer. if it does, this will probably even dominate Halo 3 (yeah i said it so don't go crazy and cry).

" 1) The trailer is BS because Phil Harrison ON CAMERA said the footage was ingame even though the PS3 wasn't even up and running at the time they made the video. It was the first of many (ongoing) PS3 lies. 2) Sony showed a similarly bogus video for Mobile Suit Gundam (most sites said it was the second most impressive video after Killzone2) during Sony's presentation. The final game looks worse than a PS2 title (not my opinion, the opinion of every game review site) so it would be "highly idiotic" to think that the same kind of bait-and-switch can't happen again. Fool me once...

this game is one of the few PS3 games i want. Also i think it is highly idiodic of people to say that the trailer is BS because its not ingame footage. Of course its not a ingame footage its trailer because all trailers are out released before long before the game is released meaning that it probably is complete. plus they don't give away alot of stuff so you will be interested into buying it

I also believe that Killzone was underrated. I did not think it was better than Halo, but I did think it was better than Halo2. I know I'll fire up some Xbox Fanboys with that, but Halo2 MultiPlayer was killed by that stupid Sword. Also I thought the Story in Halo2 Sucked. My number one reason for loving halo was the compelling story. OK... My final Gripe about Halo2 was some of the Levels were so dark that my son and I would kill our selves just to respawn somewhere else, that is just crappy level design. My biggest Gripe about Killzone was that the Enemies were to repetitive. Hopefully for Killzone2 they create some more variants of enemies.

i cant wait till this game comes out. ive seen the preview about a thousand times since it came out last may, and this game alone makes me want to buy a ps3. all of those xbox fans that dont think this game is ligit are just to ignorant to know anything about what the ps3 can do. this game does have the potential to be a halo killer. im not gonna say halo isnt fun, cause it is, but its not like its gonna be the last good game out there. all those xbox fans are just pretending like they dont find these things interesting; cause if they didnt, they wouldnt be looking at ps3 stuff. ive had 2 xbox 360's and they have both sucked and they really dont have anything new to offer from the original thats worth noticing. i only play it cause my friends have it. even gears of war got tiring after less than 2 weeks. this is gonna be way better than anything that the xbox will offer. even if the ps3 doesnt turn out to be that good (which it will), i still hate the xbox for life

PS3 Killzone sounds promising. I've heard the first Killzone for PS2 was a bit lackluster, so hopefully it will be improved.

Killzone remains one of my favorite ps2 games, and not because of the multiplayer. FPS multiplayer on consoles kind of suck. You need a mouse for that. But the single player was awsome. I beat in 3 times, and the last time was on the hardest setting. Great story, awsome well thought out level design and gameplay. It is up there with Halo as far as the single player goes.

im exicted for killzone2 vuz imma die hard sony fan, but imma lil scared that sony is losing money over a game that might not prevail but this article does make killzone2 promising. so lets wait and see

I agree that Gamespot's score of 6.9 was too low but who ever said that they are the standard by which all games should be measured? I wouldn't doubt that there a few Gamespot staffers that thought the game should've been rated higher but that's an other argument entirely. Personally, I think the lore and legend of this game is brilliant. I believe in the characters and while I haven't finished it yet (yeah that's right, I haven't finished it, you wanna' make somethin' of it?) I believe that I'll be more than satisfied with the ending. Actually, I've made up my mind that I'm playing through most of it again anyway since I didn't decide to lay down $15 bucks for the memory card reader. I don't have a large library of games that I'm that far into and, again, I love the game enough to start from scratch. I may find myself enjoying more of the story on the second go 'round. This will define the PS3 and I have a feeling that all that Halo-killer talk that may've cast an unwanted shadow on the first version will be lived up to here. But that's just my opinion, I could be wrong.

Well, at least it sounds promising. I wonder if the end product will really look as good as that infamous E3 2K5 trailer.

Well, i played first Killzone. It doesn't matter if first Killzone get only 6.9 by Gamespot, the gameplay is great. I mean, the atmosphere is great, better than in Halo 2. But that's my opinion. Yes, thay say that first KZ2 trailer was CGI, but wat is a Motorstorm first trailer? Is CGI or not? Of course is not, it's a gameplay. People, you have seen the pictures of Motorstorm and it's possible fulfill such gameplay. And KZ 2 will have just like that gameplay shown in first trailer, even better.

It looks like a pretty sweet game. My cousin owns it and all I got to play was split screen multi-player. It seemed like a really fun game. But anyway, I would imagine that with a $21 million budget, the game isn't going to suck. Now I'm not saying its going to be a Halo 3 killer, because I don't think that will ever happen. Halo is Halo, and whether you love it or hate it, it's hard to kill a game that reinvented a genre. But nonetheless, I would imagine that the amount of hours of work being put into this game will definitely pay off.

Playstation 2 has plenty of great games, along with Nintendo and other systems. Want to know one of the most hyped games thats coming out? GTA4? Which system did that start on? Playstation and PC by the way. Metal Gear Solid 4? Where did that start? Playstation... all of the games in that series have received RAVING reviews from everyone. Just like Gears or War or Halo. Each system can have their great games, but feel free to continue wallowing in your 360 flaming those who don't agree that Halo 3 will be the greatest game of all time or that it Pwns Killzone 3.
