PS4 controller has front touchpad?

Why reinvent the wheel?

The touch panel on the PSvita works flawlessly. But including it on the front of the Playstation 4 controller is puzzling? I hope that the R2 and L2 buttons can be designed more trigger shape in design. Like the Xbox and Xbox 360 controllers. These new controllers are to cost over $54.99. I hope a least Playstation 4 does at least come with 2 of these controllers.

Sony could release an "Atomic pack" for the Playstation 4 with and extra clear version of this controller. Like they did for the Nintendo 64. Sony hopefully have a good reason to include the PSvita touch panel. Developers really have not done too much with controller extras. At least keep a Dualshock 4 type controller that will work with PS4. Like the Pro controller for the Wii U.

It's shocking how rumors are still flying in when it maybe revealed in just over 161 hours!

Where can I ship my PS4 (once i get it) to install a chip to enable free games? Or, when i order online, can Sony ship it directly to chip-factory?

I just hope the PS4 has a $ tag of $299/399 or no buy for me.

Is it just me, or does the touch pad remind anyone that we've had this technology on consumer laptops now for like 10 years?

This is all tactics.first they said share button now no share button.now its touch screen.they are giving fals informations to confuse microsoft so they dont know what to espect and so they loose time if they wanna copy something from ps4.who knows,maybe this touch screen and looks of controller is allso fake rummors.

No, no NO!!! The PS controller is one of the greatest controller designs ever made, right up there with the Sega Saturn model 2 controller. Don't mess with a classic.

The PS controller, until now, has gotten better with every revision. Well, except Six Axis. It was too light and no rumble.

How i hate touchpad and touchscreens

Whether or not i pick this over the xbox really comes down to party chat and what my friends get...both systems will be about the same

Who the heck is posting still shots from their video games on the internet? This seems like the last thing I would want to be doing while playing a game. My facebook friends do not care if I beat M. Bison on hard mode.

im just tired of all this touchy touch me touch you technnology........i dont want to be touching things to get half of what i want done.......i just need a normal controller, comfortable for my hands to play........not another screen or whatever to see closer....that-s why i have a tv......and another wii U is not what i need......nor that i bought one either,.......i just want a better console system, better graphics running at 1080p without problems, smooth, good fps, and that is able to upgrade is the user wants to........that-s all.......all that 4k technology or whatever doesnt matter......im not planning to buy another 68 inches tv or whatsoever to see the effect of those pixels.....im completely happy with my 47 inches 3d tv....

They just better not try to convince us that rumble is useless, like they did when the PS3 was first released. I still remember brainwashed Sony Fans agreeing, too.

I like this news. Still the same familiar controller. No pointless 'share' button front and center, the R2 and L2 won't be as awkward, and it will have a touch pad. I hope it still has a rear touch pad also, but I guess it isn't a big deal.

why do they keep coming up with stupid gimmicks and taking away what is already perfect, just to have the excuse to sell a "new" thing. -_- , the current generations of console are doing fine and rushing to the next generation wont be the smartest thing, the advancements will be minimal. and most people are stranded for cash coz of all the political banking corruption that has collapsed many countries economics. denial denial denial /facepalm

I feel like it would have been a bit better with a rear touch pad like the vita. The front seems intrusive for me, but we'll see how it goes

I love Next Gen rumors as much as the next guy but I'd definitely classify controller rumors at the bottom of the list :P
