PSN and Xbox Live Taken Down for Christmas

This group of people clearly have a unique set of skills. It can't be easy to take down an online service at will. It's too bad that would rather use their skills for notoriety instead of a worth while career. I'm sure the U.S government or a company dealing with online security (such as sony or Microsoft) could use people with these abilities.

They're spamming a network with traffic and failing to stay for the duration of the three-way handshake and overloading the servers, Microsoft and Sony aren't to blame here as this type of traffic is extremely common for these services however the servers don't know what to do with the received packets due to the handshake failing.

I think it will be Sony's crowning achievement. They will be a all encompassing force. Problem is if their security is this bad then I don't think it would be wise. They would be down constantly.

<< LINK REMOVED >><< LINK REMOVED >> lol so far, Sony shouldn't even do a Cloud based Console. Sony got attacked in 2011 with Playsttion being Majority hacked and it caused serious Damage. Yet, its 2014 and they get hacked again but this time its Sony Pictures. If they haven't learned since 2011 they don't need to do a Cloud based console. The only Company that should or (possibly) do it is Microsoft and Nintendo.

<< LINK REMOVED >> One of the main reasons I moved to the Wii U haha, currently got a whole stack of quality exclusives waiting to be played through (and lots more to get next year), each and every one stable and filled to the brim with content to unlock through effort and not money. Heck between Monster Hunter and Hyrule Warriors I'm pretty much set for the next few months, not to mention having Bayonetta and Wind Waker afterwards to keep me busy for a long time.

I find it slightly worrying that I'm not missing my PS4 at all and enjoying this console tons more though...
