Red/black 360 controller coming Oct. 15 - Retail Radar

looks hideous and overpirced. play and charge needs to be included with all their wireless controllers for free if they're going to compete with the sixaxis. ...and people say that the ps3 was overpirced.

I dont get the costs either; other the the custom skin, there is no advantage to getting this controller. As for the skin, it looks to me a bit like the radioactive symbol ... doesn't it?

An example for my last post. If you get 10 people to buy this at $70.00 a pop, that's $700.00 you've made. If you drop the price of the bundle to $60.00 and get 20 people to buy then you have earned $1200.00. You've earned $500.00 more by selling it $10.00 cheaper. Of course this would also apply to thousands of customers. I guess they think the colors are enough.

Odd marketing. Why not sell it for 59.99? People will buy it as a bundle because they can save $10.00 as opposed to purchasing it separately. Plus you get people to purchase more hardware. Where's the savings in this?

Ugly paint scheme, much to expensive. They need to test these controllers with people who actually play games and ask them, would you use this controller instead on some R&D department. Put a choice up of paint schemes online or in stores and have customers vote on their favorites, then make them. I can see many of these controllers staying on store shelves.

yea i agree it aint that pretty, surely in this modern age they create something alittle more eye catching, doesnt make me feel like rushing out and buying one.

looks too ugly, maybe its the red splash paint over the black....too confusing too, cant even see the control buttons that good. On another note, why whould i buy more controls when only one is needed

it looks like someone messed up at the factory and made a bunch of colored mistakes and marketting just said "F#&% it, why not just try to sell these things instead of throwing them out!". :)

you'd have to have no life to buy this, its the same as one we already have with a bit of red on it. i can think of alot of better ways to spend my money thanks.

Always wanted a black and red controller, but I already have 3 and only 2 really get used - and $70 is a tad high anyway.

It appears that someone accidently spilled red paint on what looks like a carbon fiber skinned 360 controller, and wants to sell it for $70? Huh, people these days will do anything for money...

I cant think of any forthcoming 360 exclusive to which a nuke symbol would be relevant, so I guess it's not a game tie-in, which cripples it cool-factor immeasurably. Having said that, Modern Warfare 2 isn't an XBox exclusive, but they've designed a console for it... curiouser and curiouser. Controller looks total bobb though, especially compared to the ODST one, which is well gansta ^_^

People who play video games have strange taste in hardware aesthetics. I don't agree with most of it, but marketing people know what they're doing when they design this crap I reckon. Oh yeah and I've seen some comments about how useless the D-pad is on the stock 360 pad in general and I'll have to agree 100%. Keep this in mind when you design your next console, Microsoft. I'm partial to my Xbox 360, but I honestly like the PS3 controller much better. It feels more expensive and just...damn sexy.

The colors of this particular controller aren't something that I personally like, but I have already had a friend say he thinks it's cool. I fell in love with the Halo 3: ODST controller that Gamestop was selling. And I loved the cool Halo 3 controllers that Circuit City sold two years ago. Hopefully, there will be screenshots of different color combinations shown. I know there are always people out there who like unusual things like this, so I suppose it a very good thing that Microsoft has all the bases covered in order to keep all the people happy.

Ugly. I don't understand what the hype is about new colors nowadays. Sony released their new controller colors, then Nintendo added two more for the DSi, and now this. It was the norm back in the late 90s when Nintendo was releasing systems/controller colors en masse, so why has it become special now?

Why bundle them if it would simply cost the same to buy them separate? Personally, I don't even like the look of the controller. I prefer the standard black or white.

does every custom controller have to be halo-like?they should defintely release more skins,like gear of war,fable,assassin creed and tons of others.As fot the d-pad - I can barely even use it in fighting games,i always use the analog,for both the 360 and ps3 controller.but that's a personal opinion

Yeah, gotta be the worst d-pad I've ever used for any controller. Even some cheap $10 PC controller I bought had a better d-pad :(

to all those people who hate the d pad. face it you just suck. im great at sf games or m vs. c2 with the dpad. the ones who complain just touched the dpad for a few sec and said this sucks. well no it doesnt. keep usin it and ull see what im talkn bout. and most of the time the complainers say i like the ps3 control better for fighting games cause of the d pad blah blah blah wahh wahh . actually, your just covering the fact that your terrible at fighting games :)
