Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time hitting PS Vita

Sanzaru Games bringing action title with touch and motion controls to Sony's new portable this fall alongside PlayStation 3 version.

Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time will not be a PlayStation 3 exclusive after all. Developer Sanzaru Games today announced on the PlayStation Blog that a version of the upcoming platformer is also in development for Sony's PlayStation Vita. The game will launch this fall on the same day as the already announced PS3 version.

Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time will be a multiplatform affair.
Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time will be a multiplatform affair.

According to Sanzaru Games president Glen Egan, Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time for the PS Vita will contain system-specific features that make use of the front and rear touch screens, as well as the device's motion controls. Additionally, the game boasts cross-save support, allowing players to save their progress on either the PS3 or PS Vita version and pick it up on either device right where they left off.

Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time picks up after the events of the 2005 PlayStation 2 game Sly 3: Honor Among Thieves. In the title, Sly travels through time, meeting up with his ancestors across a "wild adventure." It is the first new Sly Cooper title Sanzaru Games has developed, but the studio is familiar with the franchise, having contributed to the Sly Collection.

How about developing unique games for the PS Vita? This is why I have no interest in buying one, all the best games on it, with the exception of U:GA are available on PS3 as well.

@spike6958 Well IMO this is like a game for 360 and PS3, both games are the same but if you have both you can chose which platform to play the game. For me this is great news, because I have lots of games to play this year on my PS3 and not so much for mi VITA

@Pelon208 But when it comes to the PS3 and 360 the games that both have aren't IP's owned by either company. Sony are proving how lazy they are with the PS Vita and how little they care about the system by just giving it ports of PS3 games instead of it's own unique games and IP's.

@spike6958 I gotta agree with Pelon here, besides its not like theres NOTHING to play on the Vita anyway. I wanna get Rayman Origins for the system for example as I don't have any of the console versions and the icing on the cake? Its just as good as proven from playing the demo :)

Also your overseeing games like Wipeout 2048, Little Deviants and Escape Plan the latter being 2 great IPs that just started and hopefully will get sequels as I think there awesome ORIGINAL games. Just be a bit optimistic dude :)

This cross-saving thing is very interesting to me. The more games utilize this, the better the Vita will do, sales-wise. Talk about a "killer app"...
