Sony Comments On PS4 Pro Sales And How They Compare To Slim Model

Don't drink the kool-aid with "PSVR is so much better with the Pro" it's not IMO. When you have the PSVR hooked up to the Pro you can only display 2160p in YUV420 for all your games which to me looks like absolute trash the colors are so washed out and it doesn't support HDR, if the PS4 pro is hooked up directly to the TV then it supports 2160p RGB which is true 4K IMO displays great colors and supports HDR (Seriously it looks better in 1080p than this garbage setting). I got so sick of having to plug in my PSVR when I used it then unplug it from the TV/PS4 pro when I didn't use it I just gave up and moved my PSVR downstairs with my vanilla PS4.

Anyways if you look at forums with this issue I'm not the only one dealing with this annoying problem. I know it sounds petty, but plugging in than unplugging the PSVR is a real pain in the arse. With that being said I really am enjoying my Pro the 4K looks much better than I was anticipating and the new Pro mode in the 4.50 update looks fantastic can't wait!

So basically when every region reports that the pro only makes up 10 to 20 percent of ps4 sales. Sony then turns around and says that 20 percent is a higher number than 80 to 90 percent.

Wow.

I swear Sony is garbage compared to the Sony I knew 20 years ago. They haven't been the same since Microsoft came in.

Now they are even bigger liars than microsoft.

It's ridiculous to think the pro would outsell the slim.

Unless they sold 6 million pro units in January.lol

The PS4 Pro launch didn't get much help from the likes of Bethesda. One of my US friends bought the Pro the same time as me but when we found that the Skyrim remaster ran smoother on the base PS4, he immediately took his PS4 Pro back to the shop for a refund. I kept mine because I knew devs always struggle at launch and that the advantages would come later. I'm starting to see the advantages slowly coming now and the hardware is starting to shine. Lots of great games now and they are looking impressive on the Pro.

Normally Sony release numbers when their consoles are selling well which makes me think pro isn't selling as well as they hoped.

I really want to try VR but there's no way I'm gonna waste money on psvr. It's just not good enough. Maybe when Sony brings out psvr 2 which hopefully does away with all the god damn cables, improves the resolution and is un tethered ill jump in.

I might even get a Rift along with Scorpio if the 2 do become compatible.

VR still needs improving. From what i have seen, the tecnolagy is too expensive to make yet, it will have very litle suport in gaming. And everyone i see using the headset gets nauseous within 10 minutes of using it

Pc master race? No thanks. I have a pretty powerful pc rig as well. Not the 1080 but the 1070 card. Plenty powerful enough. However, I don't use it for gaming at all. The amount of hackers and cheaters is just crazy on PC.

I currently have the xbone S and PS4. I trying to sell my PS4 so I can get the pro but I don't think I will now. Going to keep the PS4 and pick up the Scorpio instead. I can still play all the Sony exclusives and use the Scorpio for all the multiplats. Then play on the switch when on the go. Best of everything ;)

I would say that regardless if Scorpio will be more powerful or not, the matter of fact that PlayStation has the better games matters. Why is this? Because of it's success. This happened to the 360 as well. Ps3 was the most powerful console at that time, with a bluray player built in. Yet, it did poorly because of the 360's success. Same will happen to Scorpio. Just because it will be most powerful console, doesn't guarantee success. Besides, if Scorpio decides on backwards compatibility, it will lower the power of the system itself. We are also in that day in age where everything is streamed. So I don't see why people hate the Pro for not having a 4k bluray player. Don't even get me started with Xbox exclusives... How many Halo's, Gears must you all have before you grow sick of it. Stop beating the dead horse.

Sony... just start phasing out the slim and drop the price of the pro to the slims price and call it a day

What decent games do you have to play outside of Halo 75, Forza Horizon 3, and Gears 4?

It is a bit like starting the obvious, if you have any sense and don't have a PS4 you will go for a pro.

I have a PS4, but don't feel the need to upgrade right now.

I told people that VR wasn't going to "blast off" like they had thought. People don't want to invest a arm and a leg into it

the price for the VR is too much

I already got an amateur PS4 that I'm quite happy with so I don't see me upgrading anytime soon. I got it with my TV which is only 1080p, so I wouldn't benefit from any of the 4k stuff anyways. The performance boosts would be nice though, but even those seem to be hit or miss on whether their worth it.

I wouldn't mind a PSVR however, but I'm in no hurry and can wait to see how well it actually does.

I think this means that it isn't literally selling more, but the PS4 Pro is meeting expectation more than the PS4 Slim is.

It's a very vague statement and most importantly, no actual numbers.
