@TonnFool23 That's what I'm afraid of. Hopefully they won't dumb it down. And btw, I own all 3 of the main consoles and a gaming pc. I play the exclusives for each. @toad1956 They probably mean an all new story, versus Clear Sky which was a prequel, and Call of Pripyat, which was an extension of sorts. CoP was a lot of fun and had the best presentation of the three, but it was far too short to be the best.

I wonder what "to deliver a sequel proper to Shadow of Chernobyl" means. Is there a problem with the two released games like Fear. I guess we will see. Hopefully it will better than STALKER Call of Pripyat. :)

YESSS!! I can't wait for this this new one. I loved all of the others and the stories were all great. The last 3 all focused on the story of Strelok for the most part and I can't wait to see who or what the game focuses on in this next chapter. And just by looking at the progress that was made from SOC to COP, this one is going to rock. Who knows, we might be looking at something on par with Oblivion. Only thing I hate is that the wait is too freaking long!!!!

@Philly1UPer You make good points, but nothing I haven't already heard before; they deviate from the original argument which was that PC gaming is dying. It is not.

Only 2 more years!! .... Its best to forget we ever saw this.

@spikepigeo Thats all fine and well, but when you pay for a console, over time the games get better both gameplay wise and graphically. No where near what the PC can do, but still up to par non the less. Lets not forget, how you have to buy parts for you're PC to further better you're gaming experience as the years go on, where witha console, you are set for atleast 5 to 8 years. Unlike a PC where they release a new graphics card every year or two. Not everyone feels like dishing out 200-800 for a graphics card along with further updates for a tower. And the people who disagree with me and saying that piracy has a lot to due with PCs lack of full attention are just in denial. Its fully understandable for game companies not wanting to release some AAA titles on the PC, because of degenerates who don't feel like dishing out 40-50 bucks for a game. I'm not going to lie. I download music and movies and some programs illegally, but I don't pirate PC games, because I enjoy having the option to play my games online, instead of risking to play on ether cracked servers and risk getting my computer destroyed by a virus or being sued for 88 million dollars by a company that makes 100 million dollars a month off a game that is strictly online play only.

@Philly1UPer I enjoy my PS3 very much, thank you. Take that possibility into account before you talk. It is because of this multi-platform ownership that I am able to make a well educated statement that PC kicks platforms ass in just about every way. And of course PC game sales are not as good as consoles... they never have been because of the obviously larger cost of a gaming PC. Your consoles appeal to the masses because of this. Says nothing about it's quality.

@ Ladiesman17: Are you stupid? If they put stalker on consoles, they need ot butcher down HUGE chunks of the game, the game will not be atmospheric/technical as before.

@Ladiesman17: Console games can be easily played on a PC, just add a gamepad. But STALKER and Crysis on consoles are going to suck. A STALKER butchered down for consoles won't have the same gameplay as the previous ones, and Crysis 2 will look crappy on consoles in comparison to the PC version (just watch the Cryengine 3 tech demos). Crysis was about graphics and STALKER about gameplay and immersive atmosphere, both games were designed with the PC in mind. That exchange you talked about is not fair or beneficial for any of the sides.

If you go back now and play the fully, considerably patched-up versions of each chapter in the series, you're promised 3 very impressive, highly atmospheric FPS experiences. Unlike any other FPS on PC. As one poster mentions, by the time we get to Call of Pripyat we see a much cleaner, highly optimized experience--the sign of a maturing team. S.t.a.l.k.e.r. receiving a full sequel in brand new technology is great news.

SOC and CS were heavily bugged at the release but with the lastest patch it's almost bug-free. COP is perfectly optimized at the release. So people should not hesitate and give it a try. You will not regret it.

I don't care about exclusives stuff... multi-platform FTW... consoles fanboy always bragging about exclusives because they knew their system mediocre .. so they talk about something else... it's just diversion :D LOL PC got Fable 3, Metal Gear Solid Rising & Dead Rising / otherword Consoles get STALKER & Crysis.. fair enough.. ;)

Depressing but expected. I absolutely loved the STALKER games, but definetely not something i want to play on my 360. I really hope they don't make it too accessible for ADHD gamers that can't stand to learn more than 2 buttons..

@spikepigeo And you sound just like a PC fanboy, one who denies other systems, but has nothing positive to say about there way of agming, where their way of gaming has flaws. PC gaming isn't dead, But its sales today are nothing compared to what consoles make today.

One of the finest game series of the decade. Personally I am a little bit disappointed, but not surprised that it's going to console. I really want it to be a PC- exculsive.

The Stalker series is one of the BEST gaming franchise ever, Not the flashiest one, but the atmospheric side if this game is the best outhere. Hope that the next game have a little less bug.

Not to scare the crap out of anyone, but peak oil could be exactly what the mayans foresaw for 2012. A quote from wiki....."2012 may mark the beginning of a new era"...that would most definitely fit what will happen once all the oil has been used up. << LINK REMOVED >> I'm not normally the type of person to believe in this sort of stuff, but it could definitely be true, its not bs like the whole global warming or y2k junk was. There is no denying the fact that oil is drying up, and that our entire way of life is dependent on it. Not being able to drive cars is the absolute LEAST detrimental problem that having no oil will cause.

we're spoiled for great post-apocalyptic adventures - the likes of Metro 2033, Fallout and STALKER have all captured the feel so well... but which is best? My own favourite would have to be STALKER :D

Wohoo yeah! I hope this game is as good or even better than Shadow of Chernobyl. Call of Prypiat didn't do it for me, the atmosphere was great but the area was pretty lame, there was hardly anything to shoot. Although it did provide some great parts in the beginning it felt flat on the end.

The STALKER games have something that most of these new games are failing to deliver: it never gets old. I been playing Shadow of Chernobyl since it came out. It's just plain fun. Metro 2033 had a lot of potential but in the practice it feels gimped, it's just a corridor shooter, a bad corridor shooter. I'm not a PC elitist, almost. I had a PS3 and lots of fun with its exclusive titles such as MGS4 and Killzone 2. Most of the multiplatform games are easy to pick up, so easy and hand-holding that they are not even funny. Do not mistake a brainless fun game with a no-brainer one, the former is good, the latter does not. Also, console gaming defenders always blamed the piracy for the actual PC gaming status quo. The 360 is being as much pirated as the PC. Sony was clever in making the PS3 a hard to code platform, so it wont suffer as much piracy as the 360 does. Also, nobody with more than 2 braincells functioning will pay half a cent for the crappy games that most AAA dev teams are fleshing out.

"... multiplatform game engine..." =/ Is it wrong for me to rejoice when CD Projekt canceled the Witcher xbox360 port to work on the pc exclusive Witcher 2? Or to be depressed when Crysis 2 goes multiplatform and all the tech demos and gameplay footage are for the xbox version?

Hell ya i am glad to see them pumping up more stalker i love the series despite all the bs we have had to deal with (i.e bugs bugs and more bugs) but none the less in my top 5!

I wish this would come out for consoles.
