Hard Drive: At least 40 GB of free space

Star Wars Battlefront ships to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC in North America on November 17, and comes to the UK and Australia on November 19. The Star Wars Battlefront Beta begins on October 8 and runs until October 12.

Speaking to GameSpot, a senior developer at DICE has indicated microtransactions won't be included in Star Wars Battlefront.

"[Microtransactions are] not part of the core design of how it works," said design director Niklas Fegraeus. "This is a progression system based on your gameplay performance."

@rabih55555: well i did some light research and by the minimum system requirements my graphics card is just under what the gtx 660 does, but i havent tested, i guess tomorrow will be the test.

@alxz21: The PS4 hardware is between the 270X and the 280, the 390 is just about about twice as powerful as the 280, the 765 is just a very small amount less powerful then the 390. Unless the developers have lied about it being 30 fps on console you'll be playing this with everything on high.

@alxz21: Not really. Game consoles can literally devote all the resources to the game, whereas a computer still has to run an Operating System in the background. The developers know exactly what system they are trying to get everything to run on with a console. With PC there is a target, but they still want it to run on as many different systems as possible.

Really hope the single player mode isn't completely abandoned. I enjoyed the previous Battlefront games immensely but I don't have the time to practice up just to be anything other than fodder online.

@nl_skipper: Why would I buy another PC? I can run Autocad and Revit with no problem, and Steam provides tons of discounted old games. For new games, I'd rather get xone and play remotely through Win10 app. It will be much cheaper in the long run.

16gb? Lol hardly no one ever optimizes for PC. Pretty soon 16GB will be a minimum. A PS4 and X1 will always run the games, no worries. Battlefront will be broken at launch tho methinks anyways.

It was proven by digital foundry that most games run on Core i3 4130 and GTX 750 Ti with an equal settings and frame rate to PS4 and in some cases it is better.

Battlefront does not need 16GB to RUN the game

@rickphoenixxx: It's the texture sizes, you can't really optimize that, it's called the future, do you even know how big a life like pic would be. The rest isn't that demanding, it's more of a compatibility thing, having said new features, better support and etc.

@rabih55555: PCGamer uploaded an article today and they said that with an R7 260X (which is below the minimum GPU spec) they got very good performance. Actually as much as 30-48 FPS in 1080p on utlra.

So yeah, I'm guessing the min specs are for ~1080p medium settings at 60 FPS or something like that, which is probably qutie a bit over the consoles (as they'll probably be at 720p/900p or somethnig like that). I' m sure my i5 2500 stock with my gtx 560 non ti and a my 8 gb 1333mhz ddr3 ram will run this fine at 1080p (30-60 fps) on high settings with only shadows to med, no aa and draw distance to half it's full setting - if applied-, as happens with most games that have huge recommended reqs. Stopped believing in reqs quite a while ago.

seems like they are trying to push pc gamers to counsel when the hardware on the newest gens doesent even come close. add the fact games are ported to pc when the base code is is pc based anyway, and now we have somewhat of a smoking gun!

Why are Dice games the only ones to recommend a separate operating system? The last Battlefield reccomended Windows 8.1. I'm not upgrading my PC until next year so my 8 GB of Ram will have to do.

Go back over your interview with the EA guy, he never ruled out microtransactions, he simply said you can do everything with in-game currency and by playing. Most EA games now have microtransactions, but they're not necessary. I can't imagine this will be any different.

These specs are completely suspect mainly for two reasons:

Intel Skylake CPUs as a minimum, they just came out... Please explain this one.

8GB of Ram minimum and 16 GB recommended, Batman Arkham Knight doesn't require this to run. I know, two different games but Arkham Knight has an entire city landscape and Star Wars has a lot of empty space but with multiple bots and players. This requires way more optimization... If you aren't sure if you can run it, get a console and save the trouble. I am passing on this...

Can someone please do me a favor, I've been trying to figure out if my laptop can run Battlefront. I've done comparing but I'm finding mixed results in terms that I'm somewhere in the middle, maybe lower middle. Can someone please confirm this / tell me if I should be able to run it?
