Xbox Live Suffering From Issues Right Now [UPDATE]

Update: It looks as if the issue has now been resolved. We'll report back if that should change.

Original Story: If you're having issues with Xbox Live at the moment, you're not alone.

Live is suffering from problems that are affecting Xbox One, Xbox 360, and other devices this afternoon. According to the Xbox Live Status page, this impacts users' ability to buy downloadable items and--more seriously--sign in to Live.

No Caption Provided

"Our engineers and developers are actively continuing to work to resolve the issue causing some members to have problems signing in to Xbox Live," reads an update posted at 2:35 PM PT. "Stay tuned, and thanks for your patience."

The Xbox Support Twitter shared a similar announcement but provided no further information. There's not yet an ETA for when service will be restored.

We'll update this story with any further developments or when Live comes back online.

@onehitta323: No i just mean what's the point if it has been resolved. I can understand them informing people while it's happening but not something that needs to remain is all.

@sealionact: you don't have a ps4. I've only ever had one account on here as well :) I've also had an x flop one since titanfail released. If you use your brain I'm sure you could figure out my gamertag since it's so important to you. It's not that hard to figure out. nice try though :)

@sladakrobot: Steam always have problems on the store with big sales happening. But when Steamworks (or whatever it is that controls matchmaking and achievements falls) it's as bad as any PSN/Live outage. Still, it's even more unusual.

Whisper it, but today was a bad day for Xbox Live. Nearly an hour in which people reported problems with Live on the downdetector website. Meanwhile, on an average day for PSN there were more reports throughout the day of problems with PSN on the downdetector website. Yet one hour of problems with Xbox live warrents reporting....MS will be taking that as a compliment methinks.

@otterbee: It is you. When ever there is a problem with Xbox it last an hour and PSN usually it is a lot longer. Plus PSN has so many issues that it in not worth reporting. Live rarely fails so it is more news worthy.

@Aleperez75: XBL has had a lot of issues this gen, just because you got your rose colored glasses on doesn't mean it's not happening. Yeah PSN has had some hiccups lately as well but they were minor and only affected a small amount of people but it is always fixed in a timely manner which is why you hardly see any news about it.

One day if I'm lucky I will actually catch xblive down. It always misses me or I'm out when it goes down. I remember one time my Xbox app wasn't working so I couldn't buy a game and start the download from work.

@beantownsean: agreed. Ive noticed as ive gotten older, multiplayer focused games ive pretty much lost interest in.

I mainly play single player games as I love new and interesting stories.

No need for XBL or PSN if your playing single player.

Hoping Mass Effect: Andromeda will be a great game. (Wont be getting it at launch though, bound to be bugs).

Yeah, I use to play a ton of FPS back in the late 90s early to mid-2000s, but I lost interest in those after I had my son in 2006.

These days single-player games are easier pick up without having to be so focused on being competitive.
