Chaotic Xbox One multiplayer sports game #IDARB could be released for PlayStation 4 sometime down the road, according to one of the game's developers, Mike Mika.

He writes on Twitter that #IDARB has about six-month exclusivity deal with Microsoft, meaning a PlayStation version could be released as early as this summer. He also talked cross-play and the possibility of a new map or mode for the game launching sometime in the future.

#IDARB is somewhat tough to explain, but basically, your objective is to get the ball into your opponent's goal. Action is fast-paced and frenetic, and it supports up to eight players. Check out the video above to see the game in action. GameSpot's 8/10 #IDARB review praised the game's simple and engaging controls, as well as its humor, among other things.

"It stands as proof that all it takes to make a fantastic game, even with today's available technology, is a solid set of core gameplay mechanics with inherent depth," reviewer Tyler Hicks wrote.

The game is available for free right now on Xbox One for Xbox Live Gold subscribers. It's also coming to PC, though a release date has not been announced.

IMO, PS-only players aren't missing out on much. Granted, I've only played it during a couple of instances, but I didn't really dig it. I don't mind retro, 8-bit-esque style graphics when it seems to serve a purpose like many early XBLA games did with the likes of Contra, Joust, TMNT 1989 arcade game, etc., but they could've made IDARB shine a little harder with slick visuals to accompany the gameplay, not with this seemingly forced, trendy pixelated mess. Didn't really dig Towerfall Ascension much either for similar reasons. I certainly wouldn't pay any money for this game, but considering it was free, I guess I don't have much cause for complaint.

<< LINK REMOVED >> trendy being the operative word here. I see these "retro" games like guys who wear skinny jeans and sport jaunty mustaches. They may look kinda cool and counter culture, but once you get to know them they're mostly just tool belts who want attention and who are so PART of the mainstream it's a bit pathetic. I think "retro" games are just trying to hard to revive something that was relevant many years ago and that we've mostly moved on from.

I really wonder when the industry (and gamers) is going to get over this whole 8-bit graphics nostalgia kick that they're on. Seriously. I mean, it makes you wonder why companies even bother with doing HD reboots of games any more, if gamers are willing to accept something like OlliOlli and IDARB as "great games".

This is the type of comment that explains why AAA games are so garbage nowadays. People like you don't really know what a good game is, that's why all these trash AAA games keep getting made. It's a common thing among the younger generation, in my observation. just like lots of young people nowadays equate income with being good.
