If it wasn't for the glitches, it can still be an enjoyable action first-person shooter.
Main story isn't that great but takes place in a modern-day Central African nation in a state of anarchy and civil war. You take control of a mercenary on a lengthy journey to locate and assassinate "The Jackal", a notorious arms dealer and making choices throughout various missions.
Gameplay: As you set foot in the heart of Africa you are pretty much free to do whatever you want by doing various missions or exploring the jungles. If you've played First-Person Shooters you should have no problem getting your way around missions and enjoy shooting things, but however you'll be going back and forth across the map and finding where the next mission is or locating where you need to go.
If you're badly damaged you can hold down L2 to put an injection to yourself to restore your health or if you're really low on health you can pull out bullets from your arm or leg.
Certain times you'll be feeling weak and forced to take some pills because you'll get malaria at the very start of the game and with the story set in Africa there's no cure or medicine in their country, so you'll be taking them now and then. If get totally lost you can use your map and GPS to know where you need to go and plus you'll see a green light telling you that there are diamonds nearby which can be used to buy weapons and upgrades.
Graphics and Sound: I'll admit the graphics look pretty stunning as time passes by from dawn to dusk then to night time; you'll be exploring jungles, deserts and wastelands which are all a good 50 kilometres wide making it impossible to walk across without a car or transport.
Even the water looks almost real if you're swimming across or sailing on a boat; however while driving or going across various parts of the game you'll encounter enemies which appear out of nowhere and try to shoot you down. You'll also see various animals which makes you feel you are in Africa and of course shoot them or run them down with a car if you like. But however there a few glitches which can be annoying if you are half way through a mission you can't speak to the person you need to speak to after clearing a mission.
Voice acting is well done with a mix of English and African English too, the atmosphere works well with tons of explosions, gun shots and ambition sounds. The soundtrack does a great job too keeping the game fresh and exciting throughout the game.
Overall: Apart from the glitches which appear here and there you can actually beat the main story under 30 hours or more pending on how many side-quests you end up doing and collecting any diamonds scattered throughout Africa. There is also multiplayer if you want to play online with friends on PSN and of course create your own maps using map editor. It would have been nice if they fixed the few odd problems here and there but it's still an enjoyable First-Person Shooter none the less for a cheap price.
