I can't post it with the new system
This topic is locked from further discussion.
Please provide more detail. I don't see any changes.michaelP4Some people are getting this problem where it adds this to their posts:
Its the people who who change their font colors and stuff every time they post. I'm not sure about his problems but ever since last night people have been having these issues with the post editor (some people still use it, I don't use it). Ah, the good ol' editor and me parted ways years ago. This is exactly why it shouldn't be used. Any users experiencing problems with it, I'd recommend turning it off and manually doing the coding yourself - believe me, it really isn't that hard to do. Check out How To GameSpot's BBCode guide, it covers all the coding you'll need.michaelP4

Third exampleWell some of us like the ease of using the editor to link html. Wonder if this has anything to do with the new home page rolled out.

I don't care either way. I just use it so I don't have the problems associated with not using it.
Anyway...
Testing...
Everytime I click insert, the link gets deleted. :?
Neither can I. This has been happening since last night. My guess is they are still tweaking it.[QUOTE="The_Last_Ride"]

Edit: Moving to TS
The simple "Link" option is not putting in my links. And there seems to be a entire new set of options tooCould be. I had a completely functional editor in IE9 by using Compatibility Mode. Now that mode is removed (or blocked) whenever I enter a GS URL. I can't understand why a webpage would block browser features which help make things work correctly.Well some of us like the ease of using the editor to link html. if you guys put off the editor you can at least post the adres, but i am still having problems with the link inputThe_Last_RideLinking without editor:
"linked text"

Those are two options for linking. Also when using coding tags, why do I have to use the http:// or https:// after href=" ? :?horgen123Whatever you enter inside code tags has to pass through the filter successfully (as though the code tags were not there). So if you enter html or bbcode inside a code tag, the html or bbcode has to be valid, filter-wise. Thus user-entered hrefs have to start with http:// or https:// to make it through the filter, even if they appear as markup inside a code tag. Bottom line: the code tag is not an escape from the filter, which greatly limits its usefulness. That may not really answer your question, but hopefully it comes close.
That's because code tags would convert < to < and > to > if they're entered as normal text, the code tags are rather redundant when you can just post it as normal text anyway though.
[QUOTE="The_Last_Ride"]has the staff responded to this mater at all?silentexistencemichael has already reported the issue to staff as per his earlier post, so they are aware of the matter. If there are updates, I'm sure we will be informed about them. Yeah i know he did, i was just wondering if they are actually working on it
Seems we can't make paragraphs anymore. Great.c_rakeAll html tags have been disabled, most likely temporarily, and likely for reasons that it's probably best not to divulge here at that too. More on topic, they certainly have changed the editor system for this a little as all the extra tabs that shouldn't have been available to everyone have gone (so yes, they are/were working on it, at the very least), though I don't know whether or not they've fixed this specific bug yet.
So please let users know about bbcodes until this gets fixed and that probably means you won't be using the editor buttons for awhile. I'm actually forced to use HTML and BBCode, until GS updates their pages for newer browser versions. I can't use the editor at all, because the tool I used to display GS in an older browser version has been blocked or disabled. They have been doing more tests today and trying to change stuff, but I can no longer post a paragraph break in any posts now. It turns out to a wall of text. I've let them know about this problem. They're gone for the day so we'll see if they can fix more issues tomorrow. Thanks again for everyone's patience.JodyRJust gonna quote again so everybody see's this.

And staff on are PST, which means it won't get fixed - if at all - until I'm practically in bed! I've got a blog on TERA, whose open-beta starts today, that I wanted to post, but the HTML is pretty extensive. I'll try to convert to BBCode, but good Lord- stop breaking things! No more office renovations, Gamespot! Happy gaming, Boz
For linking, images, bold and italic, use the bbcode. For linebreak just hit enter, just avoid hitting space before enter. horgen123I can't seem to get line breaks to work. In their place I've been using empty "list" code to put in paragraphs. I have not been able to figure out a way to align text and images to the center, yet. Also, Horizontal Rule seems to be broken, as well.
Center is not working

[hr] Boz Disable the editor, and whenever you want a line break just press enter, ensuring that there's no spaces immediately before or after you press enter/return (both do the same thing with editor disabled; so basically: text(enter/return)text rather than text (enter/return) text, etc - you can space it like paragraph tags do just by pressing enter/return twice rather than once. BBCode for GS is very limited as posts are typically designed to work with xhtml instead of BBCode, including all of the usual editor functions; something we'll just have to put up with for the time being unfortunately. Please Log In to post.
