This has been a long running peeve for me with this website, but now it seems that I have finally run out of patience for it.

First off, it's bad enough when I can make a thread with a very specific topic title, and be unable to find it using this website's search function not *THREE SECONDS LATER*.

But it seems that even the posting history is just as flat out broken and useless as the search function here.

Take for example... I made a thread in the FF IV Advance forum where I had asked if there would be a strategy guide released... I come to check the posting history to find it and post a follow-up message to the thread to see if anyone's found any news about it, and I can't find it. And on page one, I can find threads that are well over a month old, or even some dating back till at least last year.. but it can't list me the one I posted into last week! And even going back as far as 20 pages in the posting history certainly has no chance of me ever finding it.

It's particularly frustrating because this is the only website that I go to where such (relatively) commonplace forum features - the search function and the posting history - are just so utterly broken and hardly ever work as they're supposed to. And since I can't explicitly have the posting history sort by date or anything, I can't ever seem to find the threads I want to follow up in.

I may not be a complete member (so I doubt any of the people working on this site will give a flying **** ), but this kind of sloppy mess is simply something that I would think would have been addressed since day one of creating the site code that runs this place. But of course, Gamespot employees probably assume everyone here is simply spending every waking moment of their lives keeping track of these threads so that they don't need the search function. Or will only listen to you if you're paying them money.

No one else seems to have this problem (could be wrong no one else has seemed to post anything about it) so it could be a problem on your end so just relax a bit and I bet someone will try and figure out your problem.

"It's not just him.  I can't find anything with the search either.  I search for "Xbox 360 VGA" Posts, and get several pages of "results".  Now I choose to search in that specific forum, and it displays the results in that forum only...at first.  When I click on page two, it displays results from EVERYWHERE.  And have the time, it doesn't seem to even take my search terms into account, and goes off on it's own tangent.  Didn't realize I wasn't alone, though."

First off, I can't be the only one, since I know of at least one particular user who is so fed up with the broken search function here that they have in big letters a link to their own petition thread here on gamespot to fix the search function. And seems the posting history is just as bad, if not worse, than the search function... something basically every other message board system ON THIS PLANET EARTH gets right without even trying it seems.

Whilst i've never had problems with posting history (i'm new anyway, doesn't go back far) I agree with the search issues. We need a new way of searching, all I can seem to find is blogs.

The search function does definetly seem to be glitched in some way however I generally never use it so it doesn't affect me often. However when I do want to use it to search for forums threads and such it is nearly immpossible.
