This is a mess indeed. Too many of these topics and all of that could have been under just 1 topic. I understand the game release tomorrow (at the time of this post) but this is overkill.
Remember when Gamespot shut down multiple threads about different topics? These topics were all about the same game but some had different points of view . Why doesn’t Gamespot hold themselves to the same standard?
Thanks all for starting this thread. We value your concerns and are thinking about ways to mitigate this issue. The reason it seems to "take over the homepage" is because the popular articles are based on an algorithm, and when there's such a huge game that is launching, they can often dominate the homepage because that is what people are reading about.
Unfortunately that means that we can't fix this immediately and would require an algorithm change and that requires much more thought on our part. I'm sorry, hopefully in a week you will find the homepage much more useful when the launch hype has died down.
