This is awful, the old forums were so much quicker. This is dreadful.

If it stays this bad for me I'll probably just leave, ya good riddance I know, but still, I'm sure a lot of users you want to stay here are probably experiancing unbearable slowdowntoo. Its at least 10 times slower.

hey diped - we're working on it - it's been tough to nail down because the slowness seems to only affect some users.  If you could tell me more about which pages are slow, your browser & OS, and whether you are talking about page load speed vs. text editor speed, I'd appreciate it.  Thanks!

Everything is a lot slower, particularily noticing is scroll speed when I'm using the middle mouse scroll wheel to scroll through the page it is reallly slow. Also, typeing this out is a lot slower. As are quick posts.

I use Internet explorer, and have XP with SP3.

Pretty much anything I do in this text box, like hitting enter, or backspace has a second freeze or so after it. It is pretty irritating, but I just keep typing after it and it shows up anyway.

I just find the page loading and scrolling through the forums pretty irritating/frustrating..

I completely agree. This new format feels extremely laggy. I don't mean to be a jerk GS, but why do you insist on fixing what is not broken? First there was the .5 change to reviews, and now this. I posted in a union last night and it used the old forum format, and what a pleasure it was. Typing now is a pain and a hassle, especially for someone who is a decent typist. Backspacing takes sometimes up to 3 seconds to register, letters are late to appear, and the spellchecker is very much a hassle in comparison to the old "click to fix" one. Edits now show as large text which make it appear as part of the main body, sentences won't underline and italics are not always reliable, and sometimes the editing bar up at top won't appear at all for like 15 seconds. You know about all of these I'm sure, but I sincerely hope these issues will be fixed at some point in the future. I'm using Vista 32bit, my system is a screamer so I know this is not the problem. I'm using IE 7 also.

I love this site, and find it for the most part very well laid out and easily accessible and rely on it often for gaming goodness, but a few of your changes have been questionable. The majority of responses in the regular forums have been very negative towards these changes. Would it be out of the question to conduct a poll and change it back accordingly?

often times when I go to click quickreply, I go to try and type and it loads up a new page as if I clicked reply, and god forbid I click something that I didn't intend to click(often happens in the 5 second lag if I go back a secentence to change something and its near the buttons, and whoops, now you have a good 10 second delay!) It's pretty frustrating posting now at some times.

I like the look of the new layout, I liked the old layout too, but this one is wayyy slower, and is causing me many problems and much frustration.

hellow..

came to report a new glitch for me, but now that we are into this..

The thing that are slower for me are.

1. making a new reply/quote/edit take for ages the page to get ready for me to type. Quick reply/quote works ok.

2. Opening new pages. similar to what was happening with the "Admin" tab in the unions. But now it happen everytime you try to go into a thread.

that said I hope you fix that, I like the new look :) specially teh side, is wider :)

Enjoy gaming

Another problem with these new forums is that I can't view alot of new posts in a thread. On the forum board it will say there are new posts, but I can't view them. Ive heard some other people have been having this problem too...

Since this seems to be heading towards a bug thread please continue this in the GS Wide forum.
