for the the last 3-4 days Gamespot hasnt been working correctly for me. It looks as though it doesnt load fully. I get a horrible white background and all the text is all over the place. Its making reading the forums almost impossible. I tried deleting my cookies, cleared Temp internet files, and even unistalled and reinstalled my Browser. Im using the latest version of Opera. Also tried loading the site in IE and it seemed to work fine. Is there a compatability issue with GS and Opera?

I'm not a regular Opera user so I'll let someone else address that, but I don't think Opera should have the problem you describe. It sounds more like you are blocking or not using style sheets, which almost always means you are blocking everything from the image.gamespotcdn.com domain. There are lots of ways that blocking could be happening - too many to try to go through them here. In any case, it's a configuration issue with your machine or perhaps your ISP, not an issue with the GS site. There are some tests you can do to confirm that you are blocking image.gamespotcdn.com. Those are mentioned in some previous threads on this topic. You can find a couple of those threads here and here. Hopefully that's enough to get you started.

well, I still seem to be having this problem. I formated my computer earlier today ( Nothing to do with trying to fix this) and after reinstalling Opera its still showing up as a white screen. I had alook at the above links and it does look like the same thing, but after trying what ever it was someone said to do it still didnt seem to fix it. I guess GS just doesnt want to work with opera which is abit of a pain. I'll just have to use IE whenever I want to look about on GS. Also, every so ofter the site will load correctly in Opera, but other times for no reason will mess up again. If there's been anyone else using opera and having the same problem I'd like to know. Or even if you arnt having the problem, what version of Opera are you using?

Did you try the direct links to the layout css/module css/global css style sheets mentioned in the other threads? The nature of the error (if any) could be informative, even if only subtly. It sounds like you are saying Opera usually fails, but sometimes succeeds. The success sometimes is a bit confusing. And IE running on the same install on the same machine always succeeds. Are you sure IE always succeeds? Usually/sometimes situations can be trickier to resolve than always/never situations. I'm not sure what to make of this one so far. Double checking other Opera users' experience is probably a good precaution. Maybe the direct links can shed a little more light.
