 From the ol' bloggy:
Â
During my lunch break, I went to the ol' Flea Market. One of the vendors I talked to got in a load of games all at once. So here I am, looking at the games one by one and setting them up ice and neat for her in her display area, while she goes and takes care of the rest of her area. xD I even got a customer to buy a few games off of her. xD Well the good dead payed off as I got first picks, and managed to nab a few titles I've wanted to play for a long time. I even fell within my budget ($10), so I got these 7 titles for $10 (she usually sells them for 2 for 5, or 2 for 3 depending.)
Â
So, here's what I got (all cart only):
Rocket Knight Adventures, Genesis, R3
Separation Anxiety (Spider-Man And Venom), Genesis, R4
Battletoads/Double Dragon, Genesis, R4
Mazin Saga Mutant Fighter, Genesis, R2
The Adventures Of Mighty Max, Genesis R2
Battle Chess, NES, R4
Venice Beach Volleyball, NES, R6(let me be honest, the total oddness of the cart shape is what made me buy it. :P)
So, helping people out, does have it rewards. :)
Â
I tell ya if I had a 5200, I'd be buying some of the games that came in. She got in about 15 of these carts as i unloaded them from the three bags. I saw other things I wanted but, I'm budgeting my buys because of xmas, so no more then $10 a week. :P
Â
Sweetnesss dude! And free stuff is always nice. :D Good prices too. Here are my acquisitions since Sept. 30th:
inkwolf
Nice stuff too I see, everybody :)
Great job GCM!
I picked up, from my fave local indy gamestore:
Death Jr, PSP, box & game only, $8
Platypus, PSP, complete, $5
The Fifth Element, UMD Movie, $8
I don't often post my acquisitions before I actually have them in hand, but I'm making an exception today...
From eStarland-
-Super Metroid (SNES), used/complete, $34.95
-Pac-Man World (PS), used/complete, $9.20
I've been griping about not having Super Metroid for a couple years now (pretty much since I joined this union). That filled a HUGE hole.
Picked up a couple of goodies, might add a few more also...
Reserved from GameStop:
Luminous Arc 2 - DS/$39.99
Chrono Trigger - DS/$39.99
From Target:
Guitar Hero Encore: 80s - PS2/New $19.99
From Toys R Us:
Genji: Dawn of the Samurai - PS2/New $5.00
On Friday I took advantage of a great offer at work to finally add my own DS Lite to my collection...
From WHSmith:
DS Lite Silver
Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood (DS)
Dragon Quest: Chapters of the Chosen (DS)
All new, all for £100. Should have been £150 for the lot, but we had a special day with £10 off with every £30 spent. I briefly considered picking up a Wii (would have got one for £120 rather than £180) or a PS3 (£200 instead of £300!) but my bank balance would have objected. It's been a while since payday. Shame.
I also picked up another game on Saturday...
From CeX:
Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo Tales (DS) - complete, near mint, £2 (after trading in a DVD).
Intelligent Qube - used complete $10 (I remember playing the demo of this over and over again)
Star Wars the complete saga - new $20
Intelligent Qube - used complete $10 (I remember playing the demo of this over and over again)
killeer2007
You have got to be kidding me...I can't find that for less than about $65 complete! Who did you steal that from?!?!?
More games from Goozex.
Baten Kaitos: Eternal Wings and the Lost Ocean (GC) - Used - Complete - Also came with a memory card from the nice trader that decided to put it in as a bonus.
Trauma Center: New Blood (Wii) - Used - Complete
And this finally arrived along with its art book from Amazon today.
Eternal Poison (PS2) - New - $36.99

Go check out EP right away, its good stuff. Both Baten Kaitos are good games, and an extra memory card is sweetness.

I forgot to add it's the import version, which goes for much less, heck I feel like I overpaid for it.Â
That's a hole I need to feel too one day. I liked pac-man world. Imo the first is the best of the three in the series.I don't often post my acquisitions before I actually have them in hand, but I'm making an exception today...

Sweet! If you haven't yet played it, I highly recommend it. It's a fabulous game!

Mind if I ask how you're getting so many wonderful games from Goozex? Although I have not yet used their site, I know how it works and I'm pretty sure the only way to get stuff is by earning points through trading your games out to other people; I don't think you can just buy the games outright, correct? If you don't mind me asking, what have you been trading away? (Just curious.)

What a coincidence, I just picked up the import of IQ on the last page as well! :P

Well, you can also buy points if you want and use them to get games, but I don't do that. I get so many games from Goozex because my older brother and his friend give me their 360 games when they're done playing them. Since most of their games are ones I'm not interested in, I trade them in at Goozex for games that I want. The best thing is that most of the games I trade are still worth the maximum 1000 points. Some of the games I've traded in are GTAIV, couple of Guitar Hero games, Rock Band, Unreal Tournament III, Ninja Gaiden II, among several others. I think the only games of my brother's that I've kept for my collection was SCIV, Civilization Revolution, and Beautiful Katamari. I still have a pile of his old games that nobody has requested yet just sitting around in my closet. They're not counted as part of my collection until I am able to trade them for some games I want.

You can buy points for $5/100 points, with bonus points for larger packages (i.e. buy 3000 points for $150, get 400 points free).

Damn. That's the way to do it then! :) I'll bet we all could use some more family and friends that just kept giving us free games. :D
I went to Best Buy to buy ink for my printer, why must I always walk through the game aisle to?
Populous DS - New/$24.99 with a reward zone coupon

ebay things:
Revelations: Persona - Mint and complete - $127.64 incl. insured UK p&p etc (that's £97.98 according to PayPal)
Baten Kaitos: Eternal Wings and the Lost Ocean Official Guide - Like new - £8.32 incl p&p
Baten Kaitos Origins - Factory sealed/new -EDIT: $22.50 incl $10 p&p (£15.32 in total)
Â
I had the first Baten Kaitos and it's guide before and enjoyed it till quite a way into the game where the battles weren't difficult but took aaaages, so I stupidly ebayed them out of frustration, now I'm left with fond memories of it's visuals and audio... Oh well, I got a good price for them, just have to get the game again :D I know many of you have been in the same situation before :P
Â
EDIT2: For the sake of not double-posting, just got off ebay:
Baten Kaitos: Eternal Wings and the Lost Ocean (US release)- Factory sealed/new - $12.98 + $9.95 p&p (£15.72)
A new copy of the official soundtrack came free with the above game too :) Still cheaper than a used PAL copy, might as well get the US release if the sequels US only anyway I guess.

Everyone's getting Eternal Poison, when the hell's it coming to Europe?!!!
My amazon package arrived today with Eternal Poison.

I know it's hard for some to trade/sell their games, but I've always stand by the idea that trading/selling in stuff to invest that's better for you and your collection is a pretty good idea. Especially for the harder and more expensive buys.

The Sears here has a table of games right down the center aisle that that always keep stocked with games costing less than $20.. The trick is checking back to see what new games they've added to the table. They also have a disgusting policy of keeping games on the table that have obviously been sliced up by thieves looking to remove the disk from the case.. It makes me mad every time I look through the games and see a handful of them sliced open in one way or the other.. Nevertheless, I come back for the occasional insane clearance prices and to see what's been added to the table. :)

The aforementioned Pac-Man World and SUPER METROID!!! came in yesterday, so I decided to go out and celebrate by buying more games...
From GameStop-
-Shadow of the Colossus (PS2), used/complete/black label, $13.49
-Dead or Alive Xtreme 2 (X360), used/complete, $8.09
-WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2007 (X360), used/complete, $8.99
If you go by order of purchase, Shadow of the Colossus (in which the GameStop dude slapped the red disc in the case and then tried to tell me it was because he was giving me the best looking copy instead of being lazy) is game #800. If you go by order of arrival, it's actually #797, as I have yet another eStarland order on the way.
I went Flea Market shopping today and Picked these up:
 For total of $4
Baseball Simulator 1.000 (NES), Cart Only, $2, R2 (forget the simulation part, the ultra league is where the fun is at: earthwuake causing bats, cannonball throws...sweet!)
R.B.I. Baseball (NES), Cart Only, $2, R1 (another Tengen Cart :P)
It took a bit of talking to the vendor but I go these 4 games to $7.
Beauty and the Beast: Roar of the Beast (GEN), Great Shape, cart only, R3
Flashback (GEN), Cart only, Great Shape, R2
8 Eyes (NES), Cart only, Great Shape, R2
Speed Devils (DC), Complete, Great Shape, R2
This from there too:
Rise of the Dragon (SCD), Complete, Great Shape too, $5, R2
and this:
StarTropics (NES), Cart Only, Great Shape, $5, R1

Lazy gets them nowhere with me. :P
As for SVR 07, I liked that game better then 08. I mean 08 has it's pluses, like the 24/7 mode, but I like the fighting system better in 07. If you ever want to tangle, get some achievements, or team up online, drop me a PM on live. It's one of the most played games in my xbox library. :P
