Hey, sorry I've been so absent, but first it was finals week, then I was in NY for a week, and am now home in Canada.
I did manage to finish God of War: Chains of Olympus (PSP), finally.
Golden Axe: Beast Rider on 360. Wow. This is a great game with a stiff learning curve. Ignore the reviews and play it long enough to learn the combat system and you might fall in love like I have. I challenge any of you to get an A+ ranking in the Death Adder fight. I did and I'm officially throwing down the gauntlet.
Legacy of Ys: Books I & II on DS
Quite a bit of fun, though I liked Ys I more than Ys II. The similarities between these & Ys VI are astounding. Falcolm may not have new ideas, but they sure do them well. Also, this is the first DS game I completed with only stylus controls when traditional controls were available.

You have really piqued my interest in this game. Â
Pokemon Platinum ate up about 200 hours of my time. While I technically beat the game there is still plenty left to do in it. I needed a break from that and beat Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Blue Team Rescue. It sat on my shelves unplayed for almost three years. Red Team Rescue will probably be my next conquest. I've also been working my way through the championship mode of Punch Out.
Â
Â
And in the summer of gaming, I just finished Unsolved Crimes (DS). A quick but fun crime solving game that's a little tricky in parts, but fun nonetheless.
Sorry if I'm posting too frequently, but this is my last weekend "off" before I get back to research/work. I'm just trying to knock as many games out as I can. :)
Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne! Took me 106 hours, 34 min! Got the "Neutral" ending. That game had been taunting me since 2004!venus577
Wow! Congrats! It's AWESOME to finish those ones that haunt you (like FF VII, VIII, and XII for me).
I just finished Miami Nights (DS), and it was meh. I wasn't expecting too much from it. Cheap Sims ripoff, but has a few cute mini-games and ok story.
Â
Too Human. Interesting control scheme (right stick is for melee attacks) and the story is fairly layered. It's definitely got some Diablo/Phantasy Star Online(Universe)/modern hack and loot grab elements throughout. I liked it and I finished the campaign in 16 hours start to finish. I'm going back through to complete at least one set of armor that seems to match, but that might be my last task for this one. I'm not sure if this one is still slated to be the start of a trilogy as was mentioned by Silicon Knights. I give it a B- overall.
Also, I just started up The Force Unleashed, so I may be putting that one in the rear-view soon.
Advent Rising,
Considering it was a buck new and wrapped at EB I figured that it would be one of those games that would simply act as an unbroken green case for a better game in the future,Â
However for all the slams it got via reviews its not too bad.Â

I'll be giving that one a go.
Okay, this month I finished:
Heavenly Sword (PS3) Going into the final boss battle this game was going to get an 8.5 or 9 from me. I ended up giving it a 6. The boss battle was longer than the rest of the game (which was pretty good). The other thing that drags it down is use of the six-axis controller.
Halo (XB) Played htis on my 360. It really is a very good game. It's funny what was in the game I thought was in the second one. Definately worth replaying.
Yakuza 2 (PS2 - English version) No one is cooler that Kaz Kiryu, the Dragon of Dojima. This was better than the first only because it reduced load times into battle.
Gears of War 2 (360) Great game, very complex tech with no signs of slow down or glitching. I was impressed.Â
I think that was it for the month. I am going to try and beat Madworld before the month is out, I hear it is a short one.Â
Â
I finished Star Wars: The Force Unleashed this evening. It's entertaining but flawed. I spent a good deal of time screaming obscentities Lucas Arts via my TV for thinking the level design and measly lightsaber customization was OK. Another B-.

Â
same for me...except i give it a 5....how can the most fun levels be the first 2....i was more frustrated at the fact all my bad ass force powers were useless later on in the game...
Just finishished the story for Ghostbusters (360), which is well worth a rental. It has a lot of decent online multiplayer modes - a lot of different things I was not expecting.CodingGenius
How many times did you die? LOL

How many times did you die? LOL
Like "restart from checkpoint" death or "need to be revived" death, because the latter was a BUNCH of times. The former, only a couple.

Hearing that from two people I respect about games is a bummer. Â I just got TFU on a price drop and had been waiting for it for some time.Â

I was thinking more the latter,Â
That is the only thing keeping me from tha game, the reviews seem to make it seem like you will get knocked down every few minutes.Â

It isn't that bad, just some things are flawed, like the targeting system takes time to get good with. But I still got all achievement points, and it is one of my favorite games this gen.
I just beat Infected for the PSP. The game was decent mindless fun except for the last mission which was annoying. pikadeth
Yeah, I agree entirely. Poor Planet Moon, nothign they make seems to sell well.Â
Gauntlet: Dark Legacy (PS2)...Blue Warrior became a level 99 Legend and saved the eight realms. Mindless fun, but nothing special. Probably about a 6.
13/24 for the year. On pace so far...
***EDIT***
I wrote this down because I thought it was kind of cool, and then forgot to mention it. The game gives you a stat rundown at the end. It's nothing earth shattering, but the sheer numbers of kills and money obtained was interesting to me. My stats, for example:
Enemies Killed: 32,295
Generators Destroyed: 4,081
Gold Found: 444,790
Total Game Time: 19 hours, 47 minutes

dont get me wrong, the story is great, love the graphics and level design....but like i said...the frist 2 levels are fun...the rest of the time i was complainin about how good the first 2 levels were and how stupid the game got....how do troopers get resistant to force powers? also boss battles glitched on me 2x...once where i disappeared from screen... the begining of the last level is seriously stupid....they throw a gillion of the most frustrating machines at you....and expect you to use force lighting and hide while it regenerates....
by far one of the worst next gen games ive played
