They wanted to rebel from the main portion of Canada and set themselves up as their own government, I hear. Trying to help the US pass Canada in the "country with the most land mass" contest and all.barren167
I think even if Quebec left Canada, they'd have more land mass than us. But then again, I don't know how big Quebec is.
If we're claiming land mass, I claim western and northern Europe. The part that was under USSR rule is a giant no.Â
I claim the whole of space and everything in it. I win.
Québec has 1667441 square kilometers, which makes about643 802,57 square miles.

MS was right then. I thought Canada had over 10,000,000 square km, but I guess I was wrong.

Like barren said, mother Russia would still be the biggest country if Quebec left Canada.
Too bad all that land belongs to such a bad country.Â
According to Wiki, Macau has the highest population to territory ratio.
541,000 people to a place that's barely over 10 miles in area.Â

That's not a country. :|
It's listed as a sovereign state anyway.Â
EDIT: whoops, no, they gave up sovereignty under the one country two systems policy. I'm making lots of mistakes tonight. XD
Probably pretty low. Russia has a population of about half that of the US and is twice as big.
Yup, according to Wiki, it's at #224. Note that that list includes city-states and dependent territories, not just countries.
According to Wikipedia, the least populated country(ies) is/are the Pitcairn Islands, owned by the U.K. They make up 0.000000001% of the world population.
The U.S. has the advantage over those countries, at least economically. China has a higher overall GDP, but the U.S. has a higher GDP per capita, which, in my opinion, means more than the overall GDP.
the biggest state is bottom five in population because people are afraid of snow.barren167
And the high cost of living there.Â
Sooo, speaking of economics, what are peoples' economic beliefs?
I believe that all countries should be welfare states like Norway, Denmark, and Sweden if they have the means. So by US standards, that'd make me a dirty commie. :P
I agree with Mariostar here. That's actually a pretty good idea. Well done.barren_176
You actually read that?

I do have an attention span. :P
That's what discernment is for, simply speaking. You give what a person (or people) needs.barren167Thing is, a lot of people need a lot of things.
Would there be any actual currency in this envisioned economy, or would that be abolished and everyone would work for the good of society as a whole?DrAwesomeMD
Well, it would eliminate the one percent. :PÂ
Would there be any actual currency in this envisioned economy, or would that be abolished and everyone would work for the good of society as a whole?DrAwesomeMDThe main reason for currency is for the ability to say that one person has something that another doesn't need, while that other has what is needed by him. Namely, not everyone buys a house and there aren't all that many of them bought at any given, while you constantly need food and there's a great deal of need for it. Money pretty much becomes a placeholder, though it ends up creating a whole new category of people, those who have only money, which becomes what they have that everyone else has need of. In this case, it could go either way, working in an economy of everyone giving as is needed certainly would require no money since you know you'll end up with what you need when you need it, but it creates an issue if there's one or more people not in the system, they're under no obligation to give back but still have what's needed. If there are no such people that'd be preferred, easily, but if there are, a monetary system just for such cases, a money that's used solely as a tool and is not made into a goal (at least for those participating in the system), would be appropriate.
