I believe the team are still unaware as to the cause. The first they knew of the failure is when Vettel said "engine failure".

The right bank just let go completely, given the sparks beneath the car I'd have to guess a piston or conrod failure which punched a hole in the sump leaving the rest of the engine to slowly disentegrate.

I'd really like to see what the engine looks like post explosion. Cause it was quite impressive to see, although ****** for Red Bull/Vettel fans.

EDIT: Please stick to the rules :) - Redders

It's hard enough to find good images of regular F1 engines let alone what they look like after they fail, but here's a photo of Massa's exhausts after mixing with Liuzzi in Suzuka.

Crumpled like paper, shows just how fragile these things are.

Thanks KA. And yea that's why F1 can be such a tease, not being able to see a lot from the outside in.

And there are rules!?

Censor Bypassing
The GameSpot message boards are programmed with a list of words that are considered vulgar under any context, and these words are not allowed to be posted. Attempting to bypass the censor by misspelling, inserting spaces or symbols, transposing letters, using look-alike symbols, or any other method is not allowed. The only acceptable method of posting one of these vulgar words is to completely obscure it, making it impossible to determine what the word is without context. Additionally, certain words are prohibited from being used in topic titles and user information pages; bypassing the censor to post those words where they are restricted is also disallowed.
For example, if "gris" is a banned word:
-Not allowed: g-r-i-s, gr*s, g***, 9|-1$, girs, gryeeeas, grizznizz, **** (rhymes with "bris")
-Allowed: ****, ****ed, ****ing, g'ed, g-word

Ya unfortunately  Still my bad.

It was pretty cool to see some of the cars being covered in mud. Can't remember the last time we saw running F1 cars have mud on their cars. I'm sure the sponsors loved that

I would like to point out that I DO NOT use Twitter but found out about this on the Code Masters F1 2010 forum.
