SCHEDULE FOR WEEKEND (All Times UK)

Friday 16 November: Practice one - 1500-1630; Practice two - 1900-2030

Saturday 17 November: Practice three - 1500-1600; Qualifying - 1800

Sunday 18 November: Race - 1900

Circuit Name: Circuit of The Americas
First Grand Prix: 2012
Number of Laps: 56
Circuit Length: 5.516 km
Race Distance: 308.896 km

Welcome to the inaugural F1 GP at the Circuit of the Americas. For those with the F1 2012 game you have no doubt already tried out the circuit, but for those that haven't seen it Sky F1 have a video preview - Sky F1 USA

Red Bull go into the penultimate round of the 2012 season with the possibility of claiming both drivers and constructors championships. Ferrari have only the slimmest mathematical chance at the Constructors title needing 1-2 finishes and Red Bull DNF. In the Drivers Championship Vettel goes in with a 10 point lead over Alonso, so a strong result from Red Bull, or an Alonso failure could see both titles sealed this weekend.

EDIT - corrected race times.

The Championship scenarios in greater detail.

Red Bull Racing wins the Constructors' Title if they score at least 4 points or Ferrari fails to score at least a 1-3 finish this weekend. Vettel wins the Drivers' Title if he finishes 3rd and Alonso fails to score any points, finishes 2nd and Alonso finishes no higher than 9th, or wins and Alonso finishes no higher than 5th.

Game on.

Oh wow...it has been a while seen I had to juggle between F1 and NFL Football.

You're thinking New Jersey, which was meant to debut on next year's calendar.

Ferrari are considering changing Massa's gearbox, for an "unspecified reason".

I call shenanigans to get Nando on the clean side.

EDIT: That said, now hearing that if Massa's gearbox is changed, Webber might start developing some issues. Tactical warfare going on already here.

Could potentially see Fernando up three places on the grid from where he started originally though.

DoTD: Massa- Did a great job, sad that Ferrari cheated him out of a better finish potentially.

SoTD: Hamilton- Did the job and got the pass needed, possibly would have been a championship contender if the car had been reliable this season.

Not seen any footage as I listened to the Radio 5 Live coverage (due to Sky, bah humbug). Roll on Brazil!

DotD: Stuck between Button and Massa. Massa was quick the whole time but Button made some awesome moves. Can I vote for both?

SotD: Hamilton. Stuck in there and waited for the opportunity.

PotD (Pass of the Day): Raikkonen on Hulkenberg. Oh my word, that was gutsy!

BPRSotD (Bad PR Stunt of the Day): Ferrari. Once again dragging their name through the dirt.

MBIRoAT (Most Brilliant Inaugural Race of All Time): Circuit of the Americas. Can't remember an inaugural race that good.

Those sneakyItalians. Of course this is nothing new, Ferrari has been doing stuff like that for decades in almost every motorsport they were invloved in. They are far from being the most ethical, and they don't really care. Winning is their main concern.

DotD:Lewis Hamilton

SotD:Red Bull Racing, won its third straight Constructors' Championship in only their eighth season.

Indeed - that's how real drivers do it :D On a serious note though it was nice to not see the Red Bull scamper off into the sunset!

I agree with Redders - what a fantastic inagural race! Well done Texas.

DotD: Hamilton - overtook both Red Bulls on track showing patience and maturity

SotD: 2 contenders for me - Button and Massa both doing really well from mid-field. Going to give it to Massa just because he didn't deserve to be starting that far back!

Roll on Brazil and I am "rain-dancing" for an alternator failure in the other Red Bull :lol:
