Fancy something a bit more exclusive than the just-canned Lambo Gallardo Superleggera? As in only-five-in-existence exclusive?
You'd better win the F1 world championship then. Twice. And be good mates with Ron Dennis. See, Big Ron Manager has promised Lewis Hamilton a McLaren F1 LM supercar if he bags the drivers' championship for the next two years.
The LM was the lightweight version of McLaren's awesome F1, the world's fastest supercar for 11 years until eclipsed by the Koenigsegg CCR in 2005. 75kg lighter than the standard F1, it could hit 60mph in just under three seconds before topping out at 230-odd mph.
Only five were ever built, one of which lives in the McLaren HQ in Woking, Surrey. And it's that orange machine which Lewis will get his hands on if he holds off Kimi until 2010.
"The LM has always been my ultimate dream car since I first saw it when I was 13," says Lewis. "When I first went to McLaren, I fell in love with it."
Dennis seems happy enough with the trade. "If Lewis can win the two titles, the car is his," says Ron. "Fortunately our deal gives me a bit of time to save up!"
Top Gear wonders if Heikki can expect the same prize if he, instead of Lewis, wins the drivers' championship twice. No?
