This has been done before and I thought it would be cool if F1PU would want to do it. It is like a normal BATracer season but you pretend you are a real driver, that is why it is called Real Life BATracer. You also have a Team Manager and he gets to have input on the race and quali and chooses his drivers and how long there contract will be. So each team has a Team Manager who then starts recruiting his drivers. You need 33 people to get a whole season(22 drivers, 11 Team Managers). This is the whole plan in alot of detail.
Welcome to the "Real Life" F12006 Series. We thank you for choosing our series to take part in and we hope you enjoy your time with us. To continue the standard of efficiencey and enjoyment experienced by many who have raced in the series, we ask that you please take a few minutes just to read the rules and guidelines so we can easially set up and run the series for the future.
Many Thanks!
2. Drivers
It is of high importance that you understand this section fully, if you have any questions or queries, please forward them to us.
2a: Entry
First of all, you should have signed up to the forums. Once you have done, your next step is to introduce yourself to everyone and explain your current contract information. (I.E. Wether you are at a team or not.) If you have already been signed up to a team, you may or may not release your contract information, that is decided by your Team Manager, if you have not been signed up you next need to go visit the transfer thread to list yourself up as available so teams can take a look at your information (Race starts, world ranking, previous teams, etc.). Then, just play the waiting game and see if there is any team intrested in taking you to their team.
2b: Contracts
Right this is one of the more important side of things. Your contract differs from everyone elses and is set up by your Team Manager, it should consist of 3 main points:
Contract Length - This is the amount of seasons the team have you under their name for. Expectations - This is where the team announce what the yexpect from you within a given time, be it a single season, 6 races or 3 seasons. Release Clause (Optional) - This is not always nessercery but if your team have set you a release clause for you to reach before you can leave by your own will, it will be put here.
Once a contract is agreed and signed by both parties, driver and team, you will officially start your contract at the first race of the next season (Unless stated otherwise) and it shall end by the final lap of a season. However, the contract is not completely binding, you can still transfer to rival teams but you may not have any impact on requesting a team to buy you out. If a team wishes to purchase you, they must first speak to the team principle of the team you are currently racing for.
Note* Team Managers do have the power to end your contract before the length is complete, aslong as you are given a 4 race warning.
Once your contract has ended, you will leave the team with immediate effect and are free to persue any other team to drive for in the upcoming season. If you do not find a contract in time then you will have to sit out the season and return in hope of finding a drive.
2c: Conduct
By signing up to the series, you have comitted yourself to completing the length of your contract with a team. If you do have to leave during a season for a reason, please contact your team manager and they shall deal with it appropiately. If you fail to compete in 3 races in a season without contacting your team manager, your position within the season will be under review and may result in being black listed from future seasons.
We wish that all drivers do respect one another, whilst we do allow a light taunt now and again, abusing a member or questioning their ability is against what the championship stands for. We wish to build a racing community with a competitive edge, not a place for people to test out their bullying practices. If you happen to feel that someone is breaking this rule, please contact your team manager.
3. Teams
3a: Activity
As part of a team, we expect our drivers to co-operate to the highest quality with their Team Mates and Team Managers. Therefore you must provide your Team Mate with your car set up whenever needed and Team Co-Op must be ticked unless instructed by your Team Manager not to do so. If a drivers find that they are being treated unfairly within the team, they may raise the issue to the Directors who will take the fairest action in order to resolve the problem.
4. Team Managers
4a: Qualifications
To qualify as a Team Manager for a team, you must have reached these qualifications:
100+ Race Starts (Public)/ 2 Full Seasons in F12006 (With some kind of proof, maybe a screenshot of your play list/World Records)
or
Be voted into a position by atleast 5 Drivers of the current Season and be recognised by the Directors.
You may only join a team in the Team Manager position if the position is currently vacant. Also, a desire to role-play events is needed.
4b: What's Expected?
As a Team Managers it is your duty to do the following:
Employ Race Drivers - It's your job to try and sign up two drivers for the following season, wether it be a seasoned pro or new talents, it's totally up to you. You decide on their contract and negotiate with the driver in question. However you cannot drive for the team yourself. Set Race Tactics - For each race, you need to discuss the strategy for the qualifying and race sessions based on the drivers ideas and performance from the last race. Role-Play The Team's Season - As a Team Principle, we require you to set up rumours about your team, stories about drivers and the team and produce statements for every race on how you felt the team performed. To Notify The Directors Of Any Problems Within The Team - If you have a disruptive driver or a problem with inactivity, please report it to the Directors immediately and discuss about the action needed to be taken.
4c: Hiring And Firing
Kind of sounds like a episode of The Apprentice right?
Hiring a driver:
To hire a driver, you must first find out if he is driving for a team or not. If he is currently contracted, you have to go to his team's Manager and ask if you can have access to their contract details. It is that Manager's final decision wether he wil lrlease the information or not and you must accept their choice. If the driver is transfer listed but in a team, you may enquire about the driver to the Team Manager who will pass on the information to that driver, ultimately it will be down to that driver if they will listen to your offer.
If they happen to be a free agent and have no team to race for, then you may apporach them directley and begin negotiating a contract with them. Remember, both parties must agree on the terms and the contract must be presented to the directors before confirming the hire to the public, if this is not the case, the transfer is invalid and the driver will not be racing for your team.
You may hire a driver for the next season if you currently have 2 drivers but they must be notified of the transfer.
Firing a driver:
To fire a driver, you must give atleast a 4 race notice to that driver meaning you can fire a driver from Bahrain untill the start of Italy. This is so the driver may start looking for a new team before the season is out. The driver in question leaves your team once the current season is over.
Finally, the action must be reported to the Directors with a valid reason for the firing.
4d: Setting Up Contracts
To sign a contract with a driver, all parts of the contract must be agreed on by both you and the driver in question. These parts can be the following:
Contract Length - How long the contract lasts within the team. (May last between 1 and 3 seasons) Expectations - What you expect the driver to achieve within a certain amount of time, failure may be used as a reason of firing. Release Clauses *Optional* - A objective that the driver mus treach before you allow them to start looking at rival teams Driver Role - Wether he is a First Driver or Second Driver.
You may also add anything else you seem appropiate to the contract. Once it has been agreed on, please give a copy of the contract to the directors before releasing the transfer publicly.
5. Directors
5a: Qualifications
To qualify as one of the 2 directors, you must have acieved the following:
400 Race Starts (Public)/ 7 Seasons of F12006. (With some kind of proof, maybe a screenshot of your play list/World Records)
Or
Be voted into a vacant position by the remaining Director.
5b: What's Expected?
As a Director you are expected to do the following:
Deal With Problems Raised By Team Managers - If a Team Manager raises a problem within their team or in general, the Directors must take control of the problem and deal with it in a apprpiate and fair nature. Ensure Transfers Are Fair - If a team unfairly fires a drivers with a poor reason, you must deal with the transfer and announce it invalid. Also Directors must make sure all contracts are agreed with and are fair to both Driver and Team. Black List Disruptive members - If a member goes against the rules they agreed to by signing up, Directors may take action to Black List the member from signing up for future seasons.
Directors must be a fair individual who will not abuse their powers, failure to do so will result in a Black Listing from future seasons.
6: Role Playing
6a: Stories
Role-Playing will become a important part of the series as we strive for the most realistic series on BATracer. Therefore members are urged to Role-Play as often as possible to keep a consistant pace of news available for viewers. Stories may involve a number of factors including race reports, driver interviews, driver sales and team news to name a few. Team Managers will be asked to write most stories about the teams with the Directors also posting up official information from the "FIA". Drivers may post stories and statements from themselves.
If a story involes a driver from a rival team or a rival team as a whole, you must ask for permission from that team's Team Manager before processing the story.
And Finally..
These rules have been designed to ensure a thriving communited can be produced with a pro-active format of realism and events. If you have any suggestions or even a disliek to a certain rules, then post here! .
See the good thing about this is I know there are alot of non-KT players so if you won't have a slot say in the next 2 weeks or so then you can be a Team Manager. However I just remember the F1PU BATracer season has only just started so alot of players won't be able to join but I might be a Team Manager and I have 4 KT accounts(yes thats right, 4) so I would be willing to let drivers you use my accounts to join the games.
Totally. He made this Private Game Idea up and I just thought you's would want to have a go but thinking about it we would never get near 33 drivers so if someone else wants to try they can take over. Â
