2010: New Year, New Champion, New Teams, Same old game!
Welcome to the Predictions Championship, F1PU's seasonal game which enters its fifth year. The game originally started out as the Vision Championship in 2006, but in 2008 became the Predictions Championship - a more in-depth version of the original game, allowing for more creativity and a much larger points tally.
Last year saw a near-runaway Championship win by Redders1989, leading the field by well over 100 points at the end of the season. He joined bloodling, mjk1 and Aloushi87 in the Hall of Fame, as well as claiming the HoF spot for most wins in a season, with a whopping 6 table-topping races!
The rules from last year still apply to the Predictions Championship - therefore, despite the points change in Formula One, the points system used from 2003-9 will still be in effect in this game. Rules are as follows:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is how the game is played:
For each GP:
- Each person selects 4 teams, each ranked 1-12 and the total must come to a MINIMUM of 27. Ranking is as follows:
1 - Mercedes GP
2 - Red Bull
3 - McLaren
4 - Ferrari
5 - Williams
6 - Renault
7 - Force India
8 - Toro Rosso
9 - Lotus Racing
10 - Hispania Racing Team
11 - BMW Sauber
12 - Virgin Racing
- Of those 4 teams, the player chooses one driver from each to score their points for them in the race (I.E. Lotus, HRT, BMW Sauber & Virgin Racing, and the player chooses Trulli, Senna, Kobayashi and Di Grassi). Points will be discussed later on.
- Extra points are available for correctly predicting who will have the fastest lap time in practice, the GP and who will hold pole. There are also points for who will be on the podium too. Every driver is available for selection, not just the drivers chosen earlier.
- Players may also select the Best constructor (the team with the best result in the weekend) and the Worst Constructor (the worst overall result).
POINTS
- For each constructor chosen (so both drivers from the 4 teams chosen), points are scored as follows:
1st: +10
2nd: +8
3rd: +6
4th: +5
5th: +4
6th: +3
7th: +2
8th: +1
All other cars running at finishing flag: +0.5
Cars not running at finishing flag: -5
Front row starting position on the grid: +5
- For the 4 drivers chosen, points score as follows:
1st: +10
2nd: +8
3rd: +6
4th: +5
5th: +4
6th: +3
7th: +2
8th: +1
All other cars running at finishing flag: +0.5
- For the 4 drivers chosen, for each position they move up the grid, they score an extra 3 points. E.G. a driver starts 18th and finishes 16th, the driver scores 6 points. No points are lost if they go backwards.
- The last load of points are scored as follows:
Correct Driver for fastest Practice lap: +3 pts
Pole Position: +3 pts.
Fastest race lap: +3 pts.
Podium finish: +3 pts.
OR
Correctly predicted podium place: +5 pts.
If all three in correct predicted places: +5 pts. extra (making 20 in total)
Best Constructor: +5 pts.
Worst Constructor: +5 pts.
Predictions should be made in the way as the example post below:
