well if u ask me if would be stupid for them to make kimi 1st driver, because it would ruin massa's confidence. U wouldnt be to happy to have the new guy take over your position wud u? u wud be fairly pissed off lol

Check the Official FIA entry list thread. Well I would have fully thought that Raikkonen being the better of the tw would have got the 1st driver role considering the Ferrari team have been trying to get their hands on him for ages.

Massa has one year experience with Ferrari's car, so that gotta give him some advantage, and they probably want to show Massa that the team trust him and that he's not going to be Kimi's lap dog! ;)

Just because a driver has been appointed with the number of the second seat doesnt mean he is the second driver. Barrichello got the number for the first driver at Honda when he joined because 11 is his lucky number not because was supposed to the first driver. Either way its still quite logical that Massa gets the number for the first driver.

he has to be the second driver- thats the rule. massa scored more points than him, so he is naturally ferrari's no.2 for 2007. it was the same with honda this year and barrichello, although button was widely regarded as a better driver than barrichello the regulations say that the driver with the most points in the previous season is no.2 driver. If michael cam back in 08 he couldnt be no.1 driver for that team unless he was with a rookie driver whos in his first season or someone crap like ide.

You would feel that, but you would sorta realise Raikkonen has slaughtered you in every championship bar last years, with thanks to McLaren-Mercedes going Pop often. But alas, it is Ferrari's desision.

I CAN'T BE BOTHERED TO QUOTE YOU ALL SO...

- Massa is quite clearly the better driver than Raikkonen, Raikkonen should stop living the playboy lifestyle and knuckle down on what is important, Formula One. Massa is again a Raw Talent, How good was he last year? He won 2 Races in a dominant year for Shumacher & Alonso and never looked out of place in the Ferrari. He was a joy to watch particulary at Instanbul & Interlagos where he won. He is definitely a WDC competitor, Raikkonen hasn't got in him, Massa is the better driver by far. Expect alot from the Young Brazilian in years to come ;)

& Shumacher stated that was part of his reason from resigning from Ferrari, He didn't want Massa to take the test role.

While I agree that Massa is a pretty good driver, yet I have no doubt that Raikkonen is better.

Look at season 2003; Raikkonen had a decent car and he lost the championship by a difference of 2 points only. In 2004, McLaren had the worst car ever yet  he managed to win a GP. 2005 was another close call but his car could not compete with Renault. And 2006, well we all know about the season.

Therefore, I cannot understand how Raikkonen is living the "playboy lifestyle" you mentioned. The guy has suffered enough in F1 an he already wasted 2-3 years of his F1 career due to lack of car's reliability. I'm sure things will be different next season.
