BMW Sauber's Robert Kubica will become the latest recipient of the Lorenzo Bandini Trophy - a unique award chosen by the residents of Brisighella in Italy.
The trophy is presented in memory of Italian driver Bandini, a grand prix winner for Ferrari in the 1960s, who died in an accident during the 1967 Monaco race.
The award is given to a driver or other Formula 1 figure whose achievements, character and spirit have impressed the people of Brisighella, rather than the winner of a particular event.
Mark Webber is the current holder of the Bandini Trophy, while past recipients include world champions Jacques Villeneuve, Michael Schumacher, Fernando Alonso and Kimi Raikkonen.
Honda star Jenson Button was given the trophy in 2001 in reward for his superbly impressive rookie season a year earlier.
Kubica will receive the award in an event in Brisighella on 18 May.
