After many long, expensive, hours spent in the wind tunnel and thousands of miles of on-track testing, Toyota believe they have finally found the reason for Ralf Schumacher's apparent lack of pace so far this year.
Close examination of race weekend photographs has shown that since the start of the season, Ralf has been wearing his helmet perched on the top of his head, causing huge disruption to the flow of air over the rear of the car.
A source close to the team said: "They are kicking themselves - nobody had spotted this, and they reckon that had Schumacher been wearing his helmet in the traditional fashion, then he could have been as high as 15th on the grid in Monaco."
Toyota are hoping that Ralf will agree to go back to wearing his helmet properly in time for the Canadian Grand Prix.
Failing that they will consider reworking the rear aero package of the TF107 to compensate.
