The fact that he got taken away from his home where he was a star and put into a different world where he must kill his own father, and then he still be able to fight and still travel with Yunato protect her against, again, his father,says something. And hey, when he was with Yuna, he would show enthusiasm and be optimistic, and tried his best to keep a positive attutude around, hence why they fell in love.

hmm, people are overexagerating, tidus was not that bad... There is nothing wrong with a character that shows emotion, that just gives the game a little more life to it. The only times he whined were when it had to do with his father and his so called "homeland" and it really wasent that bad, he had a lot of energy, and to say the least was almost exaclty like zidane but just not as "open" with the ladies.

Zidane is a much better chracter. He showed emotion, but he didn't whine. He actually did have a positive outlook, unlike Tidus

Tidus wasn't always whining, though. In the beginning he may have beena littlewhiney, but as he further traveled with Yuna and the rest, he was able to gain a bond with them, and he laughed, he smiled, he fell in love with Yuna, it weasn't all about whining, and the only times I can remember him whining were when there were events involving sin and his father, and when he missed home, but those are pretty good reasons to be upset, and again, he was able to move on with life and didn't self-loathe himself or self-damage himself.

and I'll agree that all that Cloud and Aeris stuffwas exaggerated, but after her death, Cloud wasn't always in despair, nor did he ever intentionally damage his self in anyway, and was still able to continue his relationship with Tifa and move on with it

uh, no, I played FFX, twice, I think I'd know what I'm talking about. How do I know you played it?All youapparantlygot out ofthe whole entire gameis "Tidus is Emo".

I am definitely going to say Cloud Strife. I love the multiple personality Square Enix gave him. He was confident, and then unsure of himself. He literally broke down, and was soon revived by friends. But I do hate how Square Enix stressed the fact that he was indeed lesser compared to his peers before he believed he was in SOLDIER.

Any event shown in the Compilation of Final Fantasy VII rarely shows Cloud enjoying his life as a 14 year old boy(even as a MP), compared to Zack Fair who's chilling on the beach in his bathing suit. Cloud was either getting owned, whining about orders, complaining about his strength, etc. But what makes him more interesting in the end is how the world and story influences the path he takes. Seeing as how the promise in Crisis Core and it's ending gives Cloud more meaning; in return Final Fantasy VII has become a little bit more memorable to me.

I may be in the minority here, but I also like Firion from FFII, seeing as he is a pretty normal/cool guy.

I should also mention though that Cloud Strife is one of my favourite video game characters of all time, Cecil was just the best party leader IMO. It kind of took Cloud a while to become a good party leader, he was kind of inconsistent due to his personality issues and his past.

i have completed this game 6 times, it being my favourite game.i personally disagree with what your saying about Tidus. He is a man for all the reasons pointed out above, and your debating skills are rubbish. you are backed up by no evidence. you say yuna was more manly than tidus, yet you dont say why.
