Hmm well i kinda go both ways on this one.. ff 8 sqaure did trie to attemp at making a more realistic presentaion and it did end up severely pixelated, however, and keep in mind ive played all of my ff games in chronological order. i never stoped and said to myself " hmm these graophics are choppy and are hard on my eyes" i just tol;d myself that it was a difffrent aproach to the graphics design, and i liked it. the only extreme difference between 7 and 8 was the character designm. i found that 8 had a much more attractive setting. If u stop and think back, the majority of 7 had the camera rather distance to the characters, and the times that it was very close up we all saw that it as well wasent to impressive.. i personally would prefer a character that looks human like over a character that is 100% polygonal even if its pixelated
But its apparent to all of us that with every new ff title taht comes out, square usually improves themsleves.  So i think that every ff game that came out since 1 has stepped up one at a time in graphical quality. But hey if ya really hate the pixels in 8 just set ur ps2s visual options to smooth.. poof  LOL
ps: Actually now that i think about it 4 had a rather crisper look than ff5 did,,,, hmm?Â
