I hae played like 110 hourws of this game and well at like 50 hours i found out about the Zodiac spear :( so no way was I going to restart and make sure I got it well anyways was wondering if there was another way to get it besides the not opening specific chests.

i think its not qorth it since you can be low with money at times and so go for other ones
The way you obtain that weapon is so dumb. It's not worth it. The Masamune is more than makes up for it, as it can deal multiple hits, and combined with the Genji Gloves that can be acquired from that same mission, you can easily deal enough damage to make up for it.

I fully agree. Who would ever thought that those ordinary treasures in the very first town of the game should not be opened just to get an important weapon later on? There's even no prior notice in the game itself that will remind you or give you a tip that you should not be treasure-hungry all the time.
To answer your query, sadly, all you can do is restart the game again, or wait if a Gameshark/Codebreaker code will be released for you to have the Zodiac Spear.

well there is a chest in the Henne Mines (deep area) that you can get a zodiac spear, but the chances are like %0.5 only even if you have diamond armlet equip. Some people claimed that they got it that way but if you dont want to waste time there better start a new game.

not worth it?! Zodiac Spear gives you an power of +150 and like all spears raises accuracy and evasion. So even its very annoying to get its really worth getting.

by the time i remembered all that and wrote it down i could beat the game, what is the second most powerful weapon? Im sure its not to far down the list and i don't use spears

because its 4v1 :P and so only one of them has 2 take a hit and casting time sucks, unless you get augments and raise speed.....additionally magic aside from white, green and some arcane is usless

Must be the tournesol (+140 attack powers) you can get it via the bazaar.
