dragon quest is second because one day when i finished FF8 i had nothing to do and what do i see in a game store dragon quest and it says Square on it so instantly i buy it and enjoy it untill FF9 comes out
*grumble grumble* I loved Dark Cloud because it had a great story, and the characters were awesome. I loved the weapon system and it was a rare RPG without a EXP level up system as well.
Lunar series is very close to my heart 'coz it is pure fun.
Suikoden series is one of my favorite series 'coz I love the idea of collecting 1-8 characters, building your own fort/castle and the inter-relation between each game.
Grandia series is like Lunar, but the battle system is great.
Pokemon. Just a nice past time... Currently playing Fire Red.
I am really obsessed with Radiata Stories, it's tied in first place with Final Fantasy for my favorites. I love this game so much because I love the comedy it has. It's hilarious "Your trouble is my bubble, wait, that doesn't make any sense" :lol::lol::lol:!!! But I think it's really weird that there are 177 characters you can't even play. You can only control Jack and have three other members. But it's a great game and I can't stop playing it. I also like the Shadow Hearts series. But it's not my favorite.
My reasons for liking DC well ............. First of all it was the RPG that got me into RPG's. I love the level up system and the inventing system. Battle system is fairly simple. I love the additional stuff like fishing, racing yer fish after breeding them, makin new inventions and a lot more. Its a great game overall. The only RPG IMO whose music can compare to FF. The music in the game is awesome
Lunar - the sheer scope and magnitude of that game could keep you coming back for more, not to mention it was truly fun
Kingdom Hearts (despite not having played the 2nd one YET) - Square and Disney together.....what's not to like, the characters, the music, the worlds........incredible........
Golden Sun - this under the radar title is one of the best examples of the genrre on the GBA for a while, plus any game where a character's catch phrase is "damn you" is on any lists of mine :P
Besides FF I would have to say KH series is also one of my favorites but that includes FF characters ><Â so I don't know if that would count as FF. I would say this is the order:
I'm surprised that more people haven't mentioned Crono Trigger. I love CT because it was one of my first RPGs. It has some of the most awesome music, and the multiple endings are great. The story is very interesting as well. I think this is the only RPG I've kept coming back to and playing again and again, even though it's been years since I played it for the first time.

It's my second favorite along with Final Fantasy Tactics.
