We all know that a role-playing gaming needs a villain, and out of many RPG's that exist, some of the best of them come from the Final Fantasy series.
Final Fantasy is the series that established Sepiroth, the most badass, cool, all pwntering villain that shouted "all ur hp r belong to me!! when faced by random civilians. He was the coolest Final Fantasy character in existance, no one was better.
You guys feeling any sarcasm from that last paragraph? If you are, then cookie for you.
Many villains in the Final Fantasy series are overlooked because everyone's always talking about Sephiroth, which is just Final Fantasy VII fanboyism showing. What was so great about him? Sure, he had a cool sword and was strong, but that doesn't seem like a reason for him to be "tha best vilan evar!11".
Here's a few villains I prefered much more over Sephiroth:
Kefka
I haven't played Final Fantasy VI, but I'll get around to it one day. So, how do I know anything about Kefka? Well, I'vve heard a lot about him, such as the fact that he's a bat-**** insane villain. I heard something about him re-shaping the world in the way he wanted it to be, but I'll let other people confirm that. Did Sephiroth do anything like this? No. Kefka >>> Sephiroth
Kuja
First of all, anyone who thinks Kuja sucks because he looks like a girl/weirdo, get over it, Sephiroth didn't look badass or cool or anything like that either.
Kuja was smart, he knew how to trick Queen Brahne into doing what he asked, and was able to plan his strtagies very well. When we're in Terra, we see his full power in action. He destroys a whole freakin' planet, people! Did Sephiroth ever do that? No.
If being badass means you need to have a big long sword (sounds so wrong :P), then Sephiroth truly is a badass, but being a badass doesn't mean that, even though I don't know how to explain it perfectly, I can tell you that a lot more in villains in the Final Fantasy series were more badass than Sephiroth.
