The future of the Chocobo?

We've all seen the trailer for FFXIII (if you haven't go here) and noticed how incredibly futuristic everything manages to look. Now this means we have to ask the question:

How will FFE's favorite bird come into FFXIII? Surely in the time that FFXIII is set they no longer have any need for riding around on oversized birds. Would you like to see chocobos return and in what form? (i.e. as transport, an enemy, a minigame etc.)

Hmm not sure if thats likely to make a return in such a futuristic landscape.

Possibly it will be similar to FFVIII in which Chocobos are optional and the main mode of transport is cars? 

I want them to be like genetically modified, cyborg-like super killing machines that just so happen to be the main enemy in the game and the final boss can be like a twelve foot chocobo with a lazzeh beam eye and a random mechanical wing coming out of his back(not the regular ones he has) and he has a shield that stops all attacks except for when he's charggin' his lazzeh beam and that's when you attack him!

..or maybe they can just be random enemies:P

Haha! I am returning to Final Fantasy XI. Mainly because my sister's boyfriend and his gang play it. Final Fantasy XI has chocobo breeding and racing now! So I really want to try that. Yeah. But as far as Final Fantasy XIII goes, I can see the concept very much like FFVII. You might see some remote locations in the world that haven't even been touched my overwhelming technology, and there might be a few chocobo. Or perhaps you can stumble upon special eggs that hatch legendary chocobo to get you to places you can't reach!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Chocobos will be extinct. Chocobos were too busy playing with Cards on the DS and mssed their que on the PS3 so Square said that they were extinct in the FFXIII world... just a thought...WhiteFlame-XIII

I wonder if we'll be fighting chocobo ghost then...

Maybe their won't be any Chocobo's but instead things named after them. Like a train called the Chocobo Express or Maybe some flying ship called Choco-air. I have no idea, but they better have Chocobo's in the game! Their like "Tingle" in Zelda and the Easter Eggs in GTA! CHOCOBO'S OWN!
