[QUOTE="Ebi_Furya"]Seriously you two. You each have a better chance of changing the opinion of a brick wall than of each other! Drop it and move on. Nobody cares any more.
Back on topic, I think XII could have benefited from adaptive levels based on the context of the game. You kill Hell Wyrm, King Behemoth or Gilgamesh and the levels of all enemies increases by 5 for each one. You kill any esper and they increase by 3. You kill Yiazmat and they increase by 10.
To me, this would have made the later part of the game a little more challenging as by the time your levels are high enough to take some of them down, everything else is a cake walk.

*starts spewing venom on Furya* WHAT'S YOUR PROBLEM........J/K. I think that couldv'e made things even better. Having the game realize the players improved skills and try to match them.
Like what FFVIII did? In other words...

I'd have no problem with that...
Neither would I. I think that every game should have a system that allows the things you fight to get better as you get better. That would keep every game challenging all the way through to the end. Once you get all your characters over 55 in FF XII Vayne is no problem.

After I did pretty much every optional quest and hunt...Vayne was so easy...

Bleh! I hate it when games do that. It's almost like leveling up is pointless. You never become more powerful in a sense because your enemies improve as you do. They are just as difficult at level one as they are at level 50, and htat's just...dumb. It strips level grinding of all it's purpose. It was the only thing I did not like about Oblivion. When I am level 90, I want to feel like I have reached level 90. Against most monsters, being level 90 should mean that you are an unstopable force.I know everyone is aware that mass quoting is not good to the eyes, and may even be considered disruptive posting so, PLEASE...
STOP MASS QUOTING!

I'm not talking about enemies leveling with you though. I'm talking more about contextual leveling. If you never do any side-quests or seek any optional espers, the enemy levels don't change and you can grind to 90 and be a walking god. If you do complete the side quests, the game will recognize the feats you've accomplished and increase in difficulty accordingly.

Interesting, so have the game improve with you only based on the optional things you've done.
lol I kinda did too. Eventually, I'll return to XII and play through the story only without doing the extras. That way, the end may actually be a bigger challenge.Ebi_Furya
It will always feel the same to me though.

i would have motivation to play XII again, if I didn't already do everything the first time. :P
I personally didn't think FFXII wasn't that horrible, however it could have done well with a better plot, in my opinon. It didn't feel like other FFs, like FF7, FF8, or FF10 where love plays a pretty important toll in the plot. Still FFXII was pretty well done. :)

The story and plot itself was alright, I just didn't care for the characters, and that is a problem for me. But the gameplay was pretty good, so FFXII was worthy of consuming my precious time.
[QUOTE="Yuna_17"]It was pretty good game, aside from the fact the characters didn't seem as memorable, or in some cases likable, (I really could care less for Vaan, Balthier was pretty gosh darn cool though!)vornwrathEh. It could be worse *cough*squall*cough*

Squall is an awful character.

I really like this idea. It gives people the option to increase the difficulty of a game within the game. Me, I like being god like in games. Walk around crushing every enemy in sight. Whatever gets me to the end faster. I'm not much for challenging fights, I play the game 90% of the time for the story, so if I get stuck on a tough boss fight & can't advance the plot within a reasonable time, I tend to lose interest. The only thing I like competitive are my sport games.

yes. Yes he was.I know he's not the best character but he still beats all of XII's Baltheirs close but thats it and well he would smash all of the in a fight anyway.
No...I would much rather have any charac ter at all in FFXII than Squall.I know he's not the best character but he still beats all of XII's Baltheirs close but thats it and well he would smash all of the in a fight anyway.

You're joking right? Balthier is exactly 9,752 times better than Squall.

To be more accurate, he is actually only 9,748 times better than squall....get your math correct next time.

Wow. We are dropping the bar even lower  I had forgotten about Kytes until you just mentioend him :PMan, I love about every FF character I've come across. Although I can see why people didnt like Squall, he did get a little annoying, but I still liked watching he grow up and become a man. Schulzygrl
squall did get better at the end, but he still wasn't that great even at that point...
And squall could definetely beat Penelo, Kytes, and Vaan. He may have had a messed up attitude and personality, but he was still a good fighter...
Ok i see some of you don't like Squall but lets face it hes a trained fighter who well didn't do anything but try to be better at it to take down Seifer when he was first at garden. But because of this he is a far more skilled fighter than anyone in XII and i mean the Lionheart limit break would own anyone.

Eh, I'm not going to argue with you.
More like anyione in FFXII could beat the crap out of himvornwrath
How's that? Squall is a powerful person, and is good with a gunblade. Squall could probably draw the magic out of any FFXII character and use it against them. When he gets weaker in battle, he would just renzokuken their asses and lionheart any of them.
He may not have been strong mentally (at the beginning of the game), but that doesn't make him a pathetic fighter.

The whole thing really depends on what universe they're fighting in. In FFVIII's, Squall can draw and some other stuff I can't think of. In FFXII's, everyone could just chain quickenings for massive damage that would probably KO Squall.
