What is your absolute favorite moment in Final Fantasy? (And why?)

The ending of FFCC: Ring of Fates. Greatest  comeuppance of the villain I've ever seen, and the scene when Yuri starts to die and Chelinka sacrifices herself to save his life was the closest a game has ever brought me to crying. And yes, I've played FFVII, but Aerith's death didn't really phase me. It just made me upset that I wouldn't have a white mage any more.

That was quite emotional. Thanks for bringing a not-so-noticed scene like that up.

For me, I'd have to say if Cid ends up dying in FFVI if you don't end up getting him the right fish. I guess I was never really moved by it before, but it strikes me now if I really think about it.

The Squall & Rinoa Moment has to emotinal =( god i love that game !

Just so..Emotinal makes me upset and happy at the same time it reminds me of myself a couple of months ago =(

there are alot of emotional scenes in Final Fantasy X and X-2

I also love the kissing scene with Tidus and Yuna.

The bit that probably made me cry the most though was actually 1000 words in X-2, I think it's a mixture of the moving song and the images of Tidus and Yuna/Shuyin and Len that really grab me and shake me up.

I think Comedy wise though when Ultros is trying to ruin the opera...well anything with Ultros in

I also love the sword fight play moment at the star of FFIX, that was really awesome

urgh too many moments :P

Bartz poking and kicking the turtle then the turtle turning out to be the shaman

Ultros, Gau, Locke, Kefka, anything from them

When everyone plays Squall a song is pretty amazing too or beasting T-Rexaur at a crazy low level just because you can :D

the first time you reach 7th heaven in FFVII, thats just really cus i love the game, or when biggs and wedge die...

Just passing through and noticed this awesome thread so I thought i might contribute.  

The finally for FFXI really moved me, which is odd because as you know it is quite a logical and maybe even cliche ending, but there was just something about it that I found profoundly satisfying.  I think sometimes stories are meant to end a certain way, and in this age of twist endings and glorified melancholy, it was very cool to see the good guys win in an old fashioned way.

Just my two cents.

There are multiple choices, it's almost impossible. However, there is one moment that is significant to my life and that is the battle with Safer Sephiroth in FF:VII, but not only that! It is the theme that follows along with the battle.. Yes, "One-Winged Angel". It may seem miniscule to other avid fans of the series, but to me, that is my absolute favourite moment: the introduction of the "One-Winged Angel". :D

I actually kinda agree with this. You get done fighting ugly big green bird Sephiroth then the screen goes black and all of a sudden you hear the "dun dun dun" of the song. I thought it was a pretty cool.

It's a tie. Space scene in FFVIII SquallXRinoa moment. You wanna impress a girl? Jump into outer space to be with her despite almost zero percent chance of being rescued. Other one is opening scene of FFX where tidus is playing blitzball and zanarkand is being attacked by sin with "Otherworld" playing in the background. Just... O_O
