Just from looking at the trailers it seems that XIII is going to be a more traditional storydriven type of FF (that is going to utilize the ultra-secretive "White Engine"), whereas VXII looks, finally, like a non-cartoony Kingdom Hearts upgrade (it even says in the trailer "from the producers of Kingdom Hearts"). VXIII is one of the 5 games coming out in the "Fabula Novalis Crystallis" series of XIII's Square-Enix is creating. It is utilizing the exact same fighting engine as KH with a few updates for the PS3. The press releases for it state that the blue haired guy is the prince of that city and he is protecting a powerful crystal in that church from the army coming to steal it. I found this site that should prove most useful in explaining alot.

I still don't get why the hell their making so many FFXIII's. Why can't they just stick with creating very good single games instead of like 5 mediocre games?

FFXII has 3 games:
- (1) FinalFantasyXII: The next installment after FFXII.
- (2) FinalFantasy XII Versus: A game set in the same universe as FFXIII, but with a different storyline I think. Also, the game is set to be more "action/adventure" than the normal RPG genre FF games have. - (3) FinalFantasy XII Agito: A cellphone game set in the FFXII universe.

I remember hearing that FFXIII Versus would be multiplayer, yet I cant find any links....I'll investigate..

Haha. All of you seemed confused. Square Enix want's the oppurtunity to create a franchise that lives on for years and has several different perspectives through a common mythos[like the Expanded Universe of Star Wars]. By accident, Final Fantasy VII and XII became polymorphic franchises. But Final Fantasy XIII from the beginning was intended to be a polymorphic franchise. And most likely the game will adjust well to other games(and content) within the realm FNC. So for those who enjoy Final Fantasy XIII and can't get enough of it they will definitely want more. So far Square Enix said that the announced titles in FNC will be brought together by a common mythos. Yet, the storylines are completely different with new sets of heroes and villains. In fact, the situations might happen on entirely different planets. Each world might not realize the presence of the other; in fact they could be light years away. The Crystals in the mythos provide background story for each game. You'll realize the connection between man and these Crystals have affect these worlds.

In Final Fantasy XIII Lightning is chosen by the Crystals. But the people on the planet Pulse were ruled over those who used them to have the people work against their will. And in VS the protaganist is a prince of a country who has the last Crystal due to them remaining out of constant war. Now the countries who have lost their own come for his to fight over the use of it. So he decides to protect the people and the Crystal of the city from falling into the wrong hands. As you see the Crystals are the source of power in the mythos.

Don't judge a game when its not even close to completion.

What I meant was that they should just keep making single games like FFVII then FFVIII without about 6 games for each title and that they shouldn't just focus on creating so many similar games.
