I've been buying all of the Final Fantasy re-releases like IV, V, and soon VI, and I was wondering if anyone knows if Chrono Trigger will ever be remade for the GBA?  All of the Final Fantasy Advance versions have improved upon what were already great games, so why not Chrono Trigger?  I just think a portable Chrono Trigger would rock.

I agree that would be awesome, but I have a feeling it won't happen.

I'd love to see Chrono Trigger make it, but I believe it may become a DS remake, as Square-Enix is done with their GBA ports.

I think Square is having trouble with Akira Toriyama... but that would be stupid to think with Blue Dragon coming... who knows why not... maybe they are waiting for a total smash advent of that game for X console

Square Enix is one of the dumbest companies. They will never take advantage of Chrono Trigger. They'll just continue making FF spin-offs and other annoying titles.

That version had terrible slowdown, loading times, screwed up sounds and music, and even the new anime sequences were coded wrong. What people want is for them to make a 3rd Chrono game, or at the very least give Chrono Trigger the same treatment that the classic FF games got for handhelds. And new non-interactive cutscenes aren't worth it-- new dungeons are.

As for your humble opinion on the PS1 version, it wasn't as bad as you make it out to be. The loading times while longer than they should have been, were manageable if you played it on a PS2. Also, what do you mean by non-interactive cutscenes? There eye-candy, there there for you to watch and thats it. The only thing wrong with the cutscenes was the inclusion of the Japanese cutscenes in the GH version of the game (which excluded the english subtitles). If you had the original version, your're fine. As for the sound, its not going to sound exactly the same coming out of the PS because of the different hardware, and storage medium; you should know that.

They don't need to re-release this game anymore. Just go back and play the original.

The RE-release was WRETCHED!  You have to wait about 2 minutes everytime you go to your status men to load up.  Yeah the cut scenes were good, but Playstation didn't do Chono Trigger on bit of justice.

As they did with the re-hashed FFs. Why in the hell shouldn't there be another Chrono Trigger remake? Heck, I loved Chrono Cross. I'm sicked and tired of pubescent soft-core porn FFs. I want a game with substance. I wouldn't mind seeing TWELVE CT/CC remakes.

That's hardly a viable excuse. My complaints with this game are the same complaints that I had with the PS1 versions of FFIV, V, and VI (though IV's are to a lesser extent). CT, V, and VI had no new content aside from the anime/CG cutscenes, and what I'm saying is that there never was enough value in those for them to even bother making those versions. At least compared to the SNES American release, FFIV had "new" abilities for characters and a better translation. My humble opinion is one formed from someone (me) who had played the SNES version many, many times.

Compare that to Final Fantasy VI Advance... is the sound/music as good as the SNES version? No. Am I disappointed with that? Absolutely, as I also am with the censorship.. Does the retranslation and new playable content make up for that? You bet. It would have made the PS1 versions of those SNES forbidden>

Honestly, I'd rather see "Secret of Mana" make another appearance before "Chrono Trigger", but thats not to say Chrono isn't worth it.  The difference is that they already release Chrono Trigger for the PS1, it can be found with ease, and its compatable all the way up to the PS3, so its really not all that unavailable.

I agree with the guy a few posts back who said SquareEnix should stop doing FF games for a bit and go back to some of thier other series.  Mana needs another quality go, as sword of mana (gba) and Legend of Mana (psi) were barely shadows of "secret of mana".....and "Vagrant Story" really needs a second installment.
