Hello, I've decided to try and get one of the Final Fantasy games, my choices are either Final Fantasy IV, or V (I'll get VI sooner or later). So, in your opinion, which one's better? I need help deciding. Thanks in advance!

All depends on what you're looking for. Many will claim that IV is the better game, because of the awesome storyline. However, if you want deep gameplay, and almost endless character customization, V is the one to choose. In my opinion, both games are truly amazing, and are both special in their own way. If you're looking for a deep, character driven storyline, go for IV. If you want addicting gameplay and a good job system, go with V. But in the end, I'd really just get both if I were you. Like I've already mentioned, both are excellent games.

Actually, I'm just deciding which one I'll like better based on what you guys say, from what I see, Final Fantasy IV Advance has a greater storyline, so I might get that first considering how I like games with a very nicely developed story!

Alright, I probably should have mentioned this in my previous post, but.... The storyline in FFV isn't actually that bad. In comparison to most Final Fantasy games, yes, the plot is slightly generic. However, it's actually a pretty decent story when you compare it to your average RPG. It's got a few plot twists here and there to keep things interesting, at least. :p While it may not blow you away like other Final Fantasy plots, it certainly is no less than satisfying. I love FFV to bits. xP Even if the storyline isn't as strong as FFIV, I still would strongly recommend getting it at one point or another.

OK! I guess I'll just pick all 3 (including FFVI) of them up now. You guys keep saying good things aobut all 3 of them so I might as well get all 3 of them! :)

Good idea. :p I’ve yet to get my hands on FFVI. Apparently, the last copy was sold a few minutes before I asked the sales clerk if they had it in stock. I ended up getting FFI&II: Dawn of Souls, and FFIII DS instead, which should be plenty enough to keep me busy until I find a copy of VI. :p

I would stronly suggest 4 over 5 as it simply has one of the best story lines in any rpg! 6 is also very good, I have not played 5 but i've read a tremendous amount of comparison reviews and it just seems better!

Skip 'em both and get VI. But if you really must play one of those two....I suggest IV. V is good, but a little light on story.

I thought 1 was insanely hard. Anyway, I got 3, 4, 5 and 6. I love them all

I thought Final Fantasy 1 (the GBA version) was pretty easy. It's nice to see you have 3-6 and love them all! I have 3 (for the DS) but was a lil' bit disappointed because the story and the character personalities were kind of...you know...the combat also took a long time, in my opinion, the attack animations take too long to do. It was still a good game though! Together with Final Fantasy I and II for the GBA!

Here's the thing about 1. Compared with the NES version, I found the the GBA slightly harder. I was going into a cave in FF1, to which, it handed me my butt on a regular basis. Maybe I entered the palce way too early.

Sure you didn't go into one of the 4 Soul of Chaos dungeons?

It's been a while since I played this title. But I see your point and you could be right.
